One-Word Resolution

Post by kccc » Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:01 pm

I normally do "Habits of the Month" instead of New Year's Resolutions, but I'm quite taken with this idea:

Musing on the appropriate word...

I saw it too, KCCC and was quite inpsired by the idea. Most New Year's resolutions are pretty generic, one-size-fits-all, but having to focus on only one word forces one to sit down and really think about the year ahead.
Another approach I've seen is "word of the month", where the particular word is used as a guideline for one's actions. It reminded my of the Habitcal, in fact
Word of the month is somehing I'm going to adopt

Interesting concept, well worth thinking about.

Thanks, Wosnes - those are good links. Amazing how good ideas keep getting recycled.

Interesting how little overlap there is between the two "starter list" of words.

I really do like this idea. I'm "listening for my word" right now. :)

I like this idea. I'm still thinking on it, but I think "less" would be good for this overeating, over buying, semi-packrat
I guess this doesn't work unless you actually do it.
Please pray for me

I remember 3 or 4 from Carol the Coach, but I could only find two of them on her website. I really looked forward to them and she's stopped writing a column in the paper.

Thank you for these links! I've shared this idea with several people and they all love it. I'll be using this myself in 2011.
