My hairdresser makes little comments about ‘those little hairs one gets as one ages’! I go home and frantically yank at everything I can see with tweezers! Husband says ‘what little hairs?’ Bless the man. There is only so much money. Experiences v facials? I think those little hairs are my a...

Wow, well done at the restaurant. I am very impressed. I’m not sure I could have done that. I my dieting years I would be super super SUPER strict all week, then go out having decided to just have ....whatever....then I wouldn’t and off we would go. What’s the point? I’ve blown it now so I m...

Thank you, people. I appreciate your support. Yes.....I know exactly how lucky I am :D And Oolala, I like the idea of a Sometimes Sunday (morning) too. It means a Sunday brunch is not off the cards, occasionally. So, Sunday morning here, and Saturday was my first official S day. It was fine. I had a...

Oh no! Failure Friday! Every Friday (for 35 years) my husband and I have had a little extra something at 5pm. He has a glass of wine, or a beer and I have a glass of fizzy grape juice, and a treat. The treat can be anything, posh cake, hummus and crackers, whatever. It’s our little, end-of-the-wee...

Hey, Linda! I did an accidental fast last night! I had made soup to eat after Aikido, but when I got home I didn’t fancy it. It had been a hard class and I just looked at the soup pan and thought ...nah.... So I had a cup of tea and a shower and looked at it again. Nah.... So I chatted to my husba...

I don’t use the habitcal, but I saw on here somewhere someone who uses paper lips, to make a paperclip string. Red, green and blue for s days. I am so going to try that! Or maybe we could try beads and make a bead string. These are just ideas for the more concrete, less virtual people like me out ...

Day 4. Exercise. 5km walk. 1.5 hours Aikido Breakfast porridge Lunch. Sandwiches. Hummus, tomato and lettuce on whole-wheat pitta. Supper.......none The no supper is interesting. It was not intentional. I eat after aikido so I don’t get tummy ache when I exercise. Aikido is from 5.30pm to 7pm and ...

Well done Nicco! I have been low carb in the past (zero carb too) as well as low fat. In fact during the weight loss years I tried just about everything! Everything worked for a bit, nothing for more than 6 months or so. I wonder why that is. And it’s not that I wasn’t doing it right, I’m a bi...

I think it’s really sad about hardcore vegans. They do so much more harm than good. I know many people who say they considered veganism for one reason or another, but were put off by the latest vegan outrage on the media. And yes, it’s much easier offer the kids leave home! Day 3 went well, best...

Hi pearl mum......here is my big confession......I’m actually a vegan  I don’t tend to tell people unless they ask, and even then I sometimes say I am a dairy free vegetarian. I know that leaves eggs but actually they are the least of my worries. I also don’t lose the plot if somebody m...

I'm not sure where Reinhard commented on it, but I'm pretty sure he surmised that farming is very hard work and even before labor saving devices, it's unlikely they stopped every few hours to eat pre- or post workout carbs or protein or whatever, not having the advice of modern bodybuilders to tell...

Hello everyone, thank you for the welcome. :D I did great on the first day. I also had more drinks than usua...

Merrygoround’s first week

So here we go! I am aiming to do this for one week! After so many years of dieting, I have ended up obsessed with food, and have had gone a little silly over the weekend. The goal this week is to just work the programme. And this is why I have made a daily diary. I hereby pledge to do this for one w...

A couple of sandwich...

Thank you ladybird. That all makes sense. It’s eating when you actually need to, rather than just because. I shall have to think about this, I shall try and monitor how I actually feel this time. A handful of trail mix in my pocket will solve any potential difficulties, so I can wait until I reall...

New here....with a few questions :)

Hello. I have lost about 90lbs with a number of diets. I am now at about 24BMI, I am 56 years old, female. I lost the weight steadily over the last 3 years. Now, although I would like to lose another 10lbs to get my 100 (wouldn’t we all like to lose another 10lbs!) I am actually very happy with th...
