Re: Wheels fell off

Thank you so much. You’re right, it isn’t worth it. I feel dreadful. In the beginning if it wasn’t on my plate, I didn’t eat it. I then started reading about virtual plating and the wheels fell off for me because although I was usually still waiting between meals, it was a slippery slope as there wa...

Wheels fell off

Sooo... have been doing fantastically for the last 6 months? Weight was great. Was sailing along and then about 6 weeks ago life became very stressful and resistance seemed futile! Any tips for getting back on track please?

I haven’t hit any of the milestones yet but just wanted to share that this morning I was the lightest I’ve ever been in memory. So exciting as no s just feels like habit now. I do no snacks and seconds every day but do allow a piece of cake if I want it as part of my lunch if I want it and two s...

I love that. That it is not my responsibility to meet their emotional needs. People often make me special food because I’m GF and I feel bad not wanting to eat it. I’ve realised how often I do it to others too  As for the other lady I felt for her. A few successful experiences of making c...

Wow! So cool Ladybird that your habits are so ingrained that people don’t even expect you to succumb anymore. I ate far too much on Christmas Day. No snacking is my everyday habit now so I wasn’t quite sure how to handle a special day. Was very pleased to be back to no snacking yesterday as it n...

Starving

Sorry Oolala. I probably wasn’t very clear. I’m Enjoying sticking with my three meals. It’s the social pressure I’m struggling with, people pressing food on you because they think you are missing out or going to starve or something. I am definitely not starving. I love my food too much:-)

Christmas

Heading into my first no snacking Christmas.... I’ve decided all bets are off for Christmas Day. Any tips for the other days? Anybody else feel almost force feed sometimes? Apparently I might starve if I don’t snack with everyone else.....

Is there a place to alert the moderator (Reinhard?) of some dodgy spam posts? Just opened a rather revolting one accidentally....

Thanks. I have had two ‘dah’ moments since then. I’ve realised clothes and breakfast make a big difference but I also have a medical condition which I suspect is affecting the scales. Am pleased to report I have lost weight!

Newbie opinion but....

I have no problem with putting 'unhealthy' items on my plate. Otherwise it feels like I'm on another diet, then I feel deprived and then have a 'blow out'. What time has taught me is that I go through cycles and that maybe for a few nights I might want hash browns or similar on my plate but then I'm...

Oh I feel for you! I’m a teacher too and the number of times I’ve ended up with a peanut butter sandwich whilst supervising children... can’t be healthy!

Thanks for the encouragement Soprano. I can’t imagine what i’d Do instead anyway. I tried sugar free earlier in the year and must be one of the few people who put on weight with it (convinced myself that those high fat sugar free snacks were also calorie free!) :D Will keep persevering. Thanks a...

Chocolate

Wouldn't life be easier if there wasn't chocolate in one staff room and cake in the other? My workplace very much shows appreciation through food... Had to smile. I started no 's'ing to lose the weight I gained from the boss laying on guilt trips that I wasn't eating the gluten free foods she'd spec...

The scales

I probably need to start a new thread over in the daily.....just wanted to say hi though. This week has been tougher. The scales have been up since last week and I am back in the overweight category:-( I was hoping to keep my new weight and maybe even lose some more. Alas, I was ill last week and no...

I know it's not all about the scales (the sanity around food is wonderful!)... but was super excited this morning. I have lost weight and am bordering on a 'normal' BMI!

I’m a newbie and only two months in so please disregard if not appropriate. I’ve had a eating disorder in the past so know more than a little bit about the binge, sanction repeat cycle. I’m wondering if you maybe have too many rules? Maybe by making it so strict with the rules about your veggi...

Thanks for the encouragement. I shall keep persevering. I guess I just felt there should have been some reward for all the bad habits I gave up (think endless snacking and family size bags of potato chips) and all of the times I had to go for a walk, vacuum, anything to make the time pass until it w...

Thanks for the encouragement. So hard to not give up. Have worked hard to give up snacks, something I didn’t think I’d ever be able to do:-)
Lots of walking isn’t an option for me but let’s hope the other changes begin to make a difference soon:-)
Congrats on the 12lb btw. That’s awesome!

Hi. I’ve been quietly no ‘s’ ing for 2 months now after getting a little shock when my weight slipped into the overweight category. Not good when you have a medical condition affected by your weight. The exciting part is that Ive saved money (no point in visiting the snack aisle), I can wait l...
