3 pounds in 10 days IS a lot. Because this is not a crash diet, you aren't going to see huge numbers in a short time (7 pounds in 10 days is huge numbers), but you will be able to sustain the way you eat indefinitely, once you establish the habit. Don't give up!

Also, and this applies to the coffee post, too...they make some very yummy herbal teas that satisfy that craving for a warm, nutty flavor without the S. It shouldn't be too confusing to the habit, I think, especially if you don't sweeten it (I don't think it needs it, personally). Celestial Seasons ...

I don't count coffee. I drink too much of it (although it's decaf only), and I will soon try to cut down...soon. But no, I don't count it.

Nice job, Sean, and I agree with you on both counts!

(I also tend to not drink with meals because it causes a little acid reflux--sorry, TMI).

Hi Betty, I think a lot of people do this, and I do think it's a learning experience. I think the more important thing is building the N-day habits. I think most peoples' S days become more sane once the panic of having "only" two days to get in all the snacking and sweets subsides...and I've heard ...

I keep ALL my work clothes at work (I wear a suit everyday) and wear layers of comfortable clothing to walk.

That plus Gore-Tex (which is very expensive but totally worth it--and it has a lifetime guarantee) jacket AND pants.

Believe it--it will work. I lost 25lbs total eating this way, but more importantly, the habit was so sane. Once you trick your body into following the rules (it does take a few weeks to make your body understand that you don't neeeeeeed a snack or a dessert), the habit is mindless and mindful all at...

Hey Reinhard,
Just sent you an email, but with the new deadline, not sure when the pic would be taken, may need a few weeks of NoS to get back down to fighting weight (THAT would be a great motivator, eh?)

Hey Babypurr, Like KCCC said, make sure not to make it feel like a diet...by all means, refocus and get back on track, but if you feel like you aren't losing on the plan, before you start slashing your meals by trying to survive on fruit for lunch, take a look and see whether you are actually follow...

I love this substitution--graham crackers taste sooo much better than ice cream sandwich, uh, "bread." Hint: if you let the graham crackers get a little stale first (just leave the box and liner open a few hours) they get a little softer and easier to eat--I learned that one by accident. So, on that...

Mmmm, that hummus and tomato on whole grain toast post was me, back in the day. I gotta do that more often (for lunch, too). These days I'm oatmeal with a banana or peach or berries.
