Decision making

You can also beat yourself up too much over not being decisive and taking quick action. A quote I saw in a magazine article "Things I wish I knew at 25 that I now know at 50" is:- "Sometimes doing nothing is a brilliant move." I have on several occassions found this to be very true. Wait for circums...

Costless exercising

On that note Azathoth, Have you noticed how people will pay other people to do their yard work (mowing the lawn, edging, pruning) AND pay to go to a gym! It surprises me how many people pay for both things. I have a big yard and, although I don't shovelglove on weekends, I still get a workout just d...

Just to add a little balance and put things in perspective I would also add that Americans are per-capita the richest people in the world and have just about the cheapest food. Why do you eat so much rich food - because you can! Same as us Australians. Ordinary calories and food are ridiculously che...

Women SG

Hi Dede,

I ain't no woman but I think that workout is great. I have a 10lb sledge and I remember how hard my first workout was with that (as it wasn't too long ago). The routine you have described as a first workout is pretty good in my opinion, man or woman.

Anything goes on S-days, they are your big carrot to help you make it though the week! You will probably find you don't eat as much as you used too, but even if you do it doesn't matter, they are your safety valve and help you do No-S properly during the week. Hi Annolope, You will probably find that other people will notice you have lost weight before the scale does. Like has been said above, waist measurements loss and looseness of clothes seems to happen faster than actual weight loss with this plan. I think some of it is a bloated look that creeps in ...

Sorry, missed your message the first time. No cracking of whips for me today, no workouts at all this week! New movements

Hi Reinhard, Nice to hear from you! I did do the Persian Meel exercise for a few weeks, maybe a month or two before I did "crack the whip", just with one sledge. I think building strength and balance with that helped with doing "crack the whip". Also I'm only using a 10lb hammer at the moment, a 16l...

Hi Guys, Have you given these exercises a go? I was just wondering how you found them. I am quite happy that my calves have added some extra tone with the "Pounding corn" exercise. Also, my urban rangering has been enhanced with the calf workout and especially the 3D lunges I am doing (to four point...

Hi Kevin

Kevin, If you want to give the Indian Club workout a try just use the bars out of some dumbells or some steel bars about 18inch long. With all the momentum built up by swinging and the fact that your arms should be completely straight when swung, these can provide significant resistance. Especially ...

Indian Clubs

Hi Keith, I have been doing Indian club exercises with the metal bars from a couple of dumbells. I use "Dick's Indian Club Exercise" - there is a link to this routine in earlier post that refer to Indian clubs. I thought of using hammers as well to get more resistance but a big warning is necessary....

I am doing about 25 a day at the moment and my knees do feel better. Yeah Freakwitch, What makes No-S so effective is the limitation of easily assimiliable sugar. The body actually signals hunger when your blood sugar takes a steep dive. If you eat snacks that are high in sugar that is easily converted to blood glucose (sucrose in white sugar and softdrinks goes to b...
