Re: KCCC's Yearly Check In (was 2012 Check In)

Wow! What an inspiration! I am 44 and used to be very heavily into yoga and a stretch/strengthen program called Essentrics (pretty much literally daily one or the other)- My motivation has, over the last few years, however, flown out of the window for various reasons. I have always wanted to try aer...

Whatever I want - But usually contains an iced coffee (I don't have them on N days). I reaaallly like cake, too - I've been into carrot cake lately. :) Popcorn is also a popular S day treat for me. Meals? Yeah, sometimes they constitute entirely of popcorn  But the next day? I am right back to...

Seconds are not (and never have been) a problem for me (lucky me!!) - But snacks and desserts -- particularly snacks??? That is another story. I'm one of those people who cannot go to the movie theater without getting popcorn- movie night is best saved for an S day. :D

I have discovered something about myself this go around on No S: Appearance reasons get me to START eating habits, but they are not sufficient to KEEP me with the habits when things get difficult or temptations are high. Funny (?) story- I had been going through a stressful/disappointing time, and m...

I eat cereal... any cereal for breakfast. (Though truth be told I rarely ever eat cereal anymore - it's usually a granola bar or yogurt on N days for me.) I personally follow "no desserts" (and no sugary drinks) rather than "no sweets" for N days, in part for easier "black and white" clarity on the ...

Lots of great suggestions so far. I am sorry that you are feeling this way. I have followed No S in earnest since September, and that is the longest I have consistently stuck with any eating plan. (I counted calories longer, and very successfully in terms of weight control, but not without every sev...

1) My S days are Tuesdays and Saturdays (I could choose Wednesday instead of Tuesday if I wanted, but I've been consistent with Tuesdays. One weekend S day and one weekday S day. That way, I don't miss out on treats every single weekday, and there are never more than three days 'til my next S day.) ...

I like a small breakfast. Usually greek yogurt OR a granola bar OR maybe a small bowl of cereal. I don't feel that this is required or anything, but it is what I *usually* do. I remember I used to read a healthy living blog where the author had oatmeal every morning. I tried a recipe, made HALF the ...

I have trouble with emotional eating, too, and have been going through a difficult time. On N days I often find myself wanting a sugary treat or crunchy, salty snack for comfort or a reward when things aren't going how I want them to. I find it very helpful that I have chosen for my "S" days to be S...

Welcome back! It's great to see you post. Believe it or not, it was your success story with modification (2 s days per week, not both on the weekend) as well as another success story with before and after pictures that really motivated me to give this a real try. Your approach REALLY makes this easi...

My strategy is that I have one S day on the weekend, and one during the week. Then office treats are not nearly so tempting to me on all the other work days since I know that I can choose ONE day of the week to have them, if it's what I really want. If I don't, I can definitely find an attractive S ...

OK, let's be honest- My way is more no s inspired than actually no s- But this is what I can STICK to. How funny-- I just came up with the following "inspired by no s" plan, which may or may not address these issues for you. My plan is the following: 3 "s's" per week. "S's" for me, which address my particular weaknesses, are defied as the following: snacks, sweets, and fast food. (I don't have a prob...

I love seeing everyone's successes! Even more inspiring, I love seeing how people pick themselves right back up after a failed day. Keep going! Yes! I think that's half-- maybe even 80 percent-- of the battle. Picking yourself up. That and admitting to yourself what you ARE willing to do for the lo...

I'd like to join... The S's I am doing are snacks and sweets only. The goal is an *average* of three per week. (So this is obviously more "based" on NoS than actual, vanilla NoS.) The purpose of this for me is more tracking than staying "perfect." I'll be doing well if I can keep this up for the mon...

connorcream-- basically, it's a joke meaning that keith richards, of the Rolling Stones, given his poor lifestyle habits should, by all accounts, be dead. Yet he's still kicking-- and as such, Bourdain gives himself liberty to indulge in his vices-- mainly cigarettes and sloth in this instance.

I just wanted to post and say that I absolutely love this system! I tend to be a procrastinator and a bit scatterbrained...
