I had a blocked artery....

greetings to all! I've been faithfully noessing since I started again in January....and I've been reading the board every day but not posting much. Then...I've been out of pocket. I've had a lot of fatigue, and pain between my shoulders when I walk fast. Doctors haven't thought much about it, but th...

Kathleen, I apologize if I came across as critical of you and your plan. I didn't mean it to be that way it all. I think you are doing splendidly! I've come to realize that as long as the scale is moving in the right direction (albeit slowly) I am on the right track. If it isn't...well, then I've go...

Reinhard,

Since it (hopefully) eliminates the need for orthopedic surgery, could we call it the HRR -- The Hip-Replacement Replacement?

Kathleen, I've come to a similar conclusion as what you are talking about. You are exactly right. And, I think that it falls under the category of "Don't be an idiot." If you are visiting your grandmother, and you only see her once a year, and she is 90 years old, and she offers you a piece of cake,...

I look forward to the day when I am like you and can look back on a whole year of no-essing!

My Idea for a Shovelglove Addition

I am not a shovelglover yet. I had two vertibrae fused together last year, and I have just not reached the point where I feel comfortable doing that yet. And I have not yet decided what my default exercise plan is going to be. Maybe "Geezerglove"-- I'll just move for 14 minutes, and add some kind of...

Vicki, I've kind of come to the same conclusion that you have reached. My S days are a lot more reasonable if I am sure to go ahead and eat my 3 plates of good food. One Saturday I got up and wasn't hungry, and I thought, "Well, I think I'll just skip breakfast." About 11:00 AM, I started with one s...

mama-g, I think you are going to win the challenge. (At very least, I am pulling for you to win it!) :D I feel sad for the fellow who is trying to eat only fruits and veggies. I'm a country bumpkin, too, and this discussion has renewed my faith in the world. I have decided I am going to become a rural ranger. :) I think that the reason that I have resisted it until now, is because in the country you really CAN'T walk many places as a mode of transportation. I live 5 miles...

I want to make my addition to the collection of recipes here. Something that everyone in my family likes is "Cornie Beanie Weinies." Kathleen, I'm in the same place as your husband. Two years ago I weighed 210, and over the past years it has slowly crept up to 229. That is the most I have ever weighed. I gained 3 pounds over the holidays. I am not morbidly obese yet--I am 6 feet tall--but if I keep heading the direction that I am...

I was excited today to see that I am in "ONEderland", i.e., I now weigh less than 200 pounds. 199.5 pounds to be exact. I have been nosing for 35 days, and has gotten easier. Most days it doesn't seem like that big of a deal! I started out weighing 212 pounds. (This was at night, with my clothes and...

In my limited experience, the "three MEALS" component of no-s kind of takes kind of takes care of my junk food consumption. Something wonderful I see in all this is that no-s is very adaptable to each person's life situation. Being a Christian Church minister, I must obey my denomination's rule...

Water

I am interested to know what everyone's personal plan is when it comes to drinking water each day. The old rule of thumb was 8 glasses a day. When I was doing Weight Watchers, the conventional wisdom was 1 ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight. At the time that came up to 105 ounces of water a day...

Good morning to all! :) I've given the NoS plan a bit of a try in the past, but today I believe I'm signing on for real. What I've been doing hasn't been working for me, and I've recently gained 5 pounds. (I am 6 feet tall, and presently, 212 pounds.) I am not obese yet, but if I keep on the way I a...
