Apparently, you can train yourself to get hungry at the same time. The mechanic is called ghrelin entrainment . I think it does help with good eating habits if you eat at (roughly) the same times every day.

The Public Humiliation Diet

I searched but didn't find anything about this here: This guy lost 60 lbs following something very like NoS. http://deadspin.com/5545674/the-public-humiliation-diet-a-how+to Note that there is cursing on this link. I actually... did this. I bought a $50 treadmill and built a desk.

Not too bad, easy to get more exercise, and completely painless. Now I don't have to worry as much about my "web time". I was rangering 10,000 steps a day and increased to about 15,000 without trying.

Too many books, not enough time

I have a silly system for reading, of all things. My problem is that I'm constantly buying new books, and I never finish my old ones. Here's the "finishing" system. I have a stack of 5 books next to my bed. These are the "current" books. I also have two folders next to my bed, both labeled "to read"...

I like eat-stop-eat. It seems to work. ESE + NoS is a sensible combination, especially if you make sure your fasting days are followed by N days.

Make sure you have the NoS habit down before adding anything, and fasting followed by S days is a recipe for disaster, in my experience...

Starvation mode is the biggest lie that the diet industry has ever come up with, along with 'confusing" your "metabolism" and any other stupid excuse to over eat. When you haven't eaten for 72 hours, that's when fasting switches into starvation. Not eating for six hours? You might actually lose some...

That doesn't surprise me: think about it, you upped the weight by 50%!

That's a lot more effort per repetition.

Good job, keep it up, and don't be afraid to dial it back if you start getting extra sore.

Having a ritual of "closing the kitchen" helps. Do the dishes, clean the counters, make a cup of herbal tea.

The kitchen is now closed, and no further eating is possible. If you are bored and looking for something to do, go to bed.

Incidentally, IMO, pancakes are OK, syrup is an S-day kinda thing.

Paleo is the new Vegan . The truth is that people have gotten lean on high carb, low carb, vegetarian, meat, prepackaged, and all natural diets. Short answer is: All the time. Medium answer is: It doesn't matter. Timing this would only matter if you are a professional bodybuild...

IMO, this is a sweet and thus banned. Go look at the Jamba Juice website. A smoothie, picked totally at random--"Strawberries Wild" flavor, original size. 370 calories, 87g carbs--77grams of sugar! Keep your abdomen tight to prevent injury--like you are bracing for a punch in the chops. This pressurization helps stabilize the spine and prevents damage. Very important when you're getting asymmetrical.

I thought I would post this for people who have access to a gym: it looks like it would mesh very well with the No-S concept (M-F) for people who are interested in strength. Perfect for building the gym habit. http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2008/12/18/pavel-8020-powerlifting-and-how-to-add-110...
