It doesn't say you can't have sugar. It says you can't have sweets, as in obvious sweets. The test for if a food is a sweet is this:

Is it sweet enough to be a dessert or soda? If yes it is a sweet and you should only have it on S days. If no, it is fine for N day meals as well as S days.

You can do all of those things without wearing a pedometer. I do. I also make opportunities to walk such as grouping my errands so I can park in one place and run several errands on foot. It is much slower that way but I get in a lot more walking, and I save gas to boot.

Oh, lord. I never meant to start such a debate with the chocolate milk/chocolate pudding comparison. After years calorie counting I just remember them being similar in calorie/sugar content and they taste equally sweet to me. I never intended for it to be such a sticking point.
