Welcome to India. November is a great season with lots of fruits to enjoy. The veggies will also be in great abundance. Which parts of India will you be travelling to? I personally find that following No S on holiday is not too difficult - except that if I'm in a place with food that's very differen...

Home made yogurt

I've eaten yogurt, or curds as we call it in India, all my life. I make it with 2% fat cow milk everyday. My family of three eats one litre of curds a day. I heat the milk in the morning to a little above body temperature, then add about a tablespoon of 'starter' (nothing but a little bit of curds f...

I would suggest buying a 1 litre bottle and filling it in the morning. Drink from it on the hour and every waking hour so you get an idea of how much your cosumption is. Remember to fill the bottle when you've emptied it. This method works very well in hot climate and has played a big role in solvin...

Liquids like milk and fruit juices don't have bulk so may not serve to hold off hunger. I find adding a whole fruit with every meal adds to bulk and keeps me full for a longer time. In spite of this, if I still feel hungry, I drink water. This took some doing but water with a few drops of lemon is v...

I have found that the best way to reduce the feeling of hunger between meals is to drink a glass of water...or maybe two. I've been brought up in a tropical country and still live in one so it's pretty normal for me to reach for water whenever the tummy growls. Water has the added advantage of being...

This is exactly what I'm going through right now! Sugar has been the bane of my existence for a long time and it's only now that I'm getting a grip on it. Snacks and seconds rules were the first ones I followed to the letter and still do. That was easy! I made sure not to change the amount of sugar ...

I didn't fade away; just thought I'd tweak the basic NoS a bit. That was my undoing. It's taken me three whole agonising weeks to get back to the plain vanilla NoS again. Phew... I made poor choices in my meals. I went overboard on sweets. I am now more aware of a lot of things that I do that sabota...

I also desperately wanted to track changes after having started NoS. Sometimes, the scales don't change much, maybe becaus...

You can't encourage, prod, or "make" any other human being except yourself do a damned thing. How true! Not to change the topic, but it applies exactly to expecting my husband to clean up his desk and his bed-side table just because I like a tidy bedroom or study and make sure my space is orderly. I...

I am very fortunate to have a wonderful mother, whose influence in my life I appreciate more and more each day as my daughter grows! I used to walk 2.5 kilometers each way to school and back in addition to carrying a weight (my school bag!). Weight loss and age

Hi, Having been on the No S programme for two weeks now, I'd like to have this question answered: is there any co-relation between rate of weight loss and age? Bonnie,
It might interest you to know that Groundnuts (aka Peanuts) also make delicious milk by the same method.

It's fairly common practice in India to make it for lactose-intolerant children.
