Not on the fence

Thank you for your kind reply. To clarify, I am not on the fence. I always jump in with both feet - alas I jump from diet to diet (including NoS), and do a lot of damage in between. I have come to the same conclusion as you - one must find something one is WILLING to do, and stick to it. Rather like...

From the original poster

I posted the original post on this thread many years ago, and was just re-reading it. In 2011, towards the end of the thread, a few of you were wondering what happened to some of the earlier posters - had we succeeded and left because we no longer needed NoS, or had we failed and slunk off? I can an...

Suppose a day is generally considered to be an S-day - for example, Labour Day - but you personally will not be attending a picnic or any other function. I know three plates are the maximum, but are they also the minimum? What if you're not particularly hungry one day, or you get up really late, or fall asleep early?

What if (let's call a spade a spade) you've binged or overeaten the day before, and you're just too nauseated to eat?

A hugely piled-up plate would be nice to see, too, saying "You may not lose if you can ski down your plate, but you'll soon retrain yourself, establish better habits, and become ready to start eating less".

SUCCESS

Meal 1 - Smoked tofu/cheddar/pesto sandwich

Meal 2 - Club sandwich, small Caesar salad

Meal 3 - Few bites wheat gluten nuggets

Moved today. I'm surrounded by boxes, and tired. Thought perhaps I could eat off-plan by legitimizing a Stressful day, but knew better.

Has anyone ever done this, and if so, what happened?

I think I'd be happy if I ate sandwiches at all three meals, forever. If I were on death row, my last meal request would be for a sandwich. Can one do that - eat the same favourite over and over and over? Has anyone ever done it, and if so, does it eventually come to an end, or does it not matter? I...

Saturday and Sunday

SUCCESS and SUCCESS, of course - but then why do I feel so bad? I ate way too much, as if to extract food-value out of every weekend second. My choices got worse and worse as the weekend progressed, culminating in a frenzy of horridness as the clock began to run out. I have not always done this on S...

I am also hungry by mealtimes, but I welcome it - because it's mealtime! I enjoy my food much more when I'm actually hungry.

FAILURE. Almost made it through one full week, but at 3:30 am, still up, I had a fourth plate. The best thing about it? Normally, after "breaking a diet", I would jettison the whole thing and start hunting for the next diet. This time I thought, "I'm in this for the long haul. There will be days I d...

Hi, gb, Thanks for the personal note and especially for the kind invitation to keep in touch. Oh, I love this idea!

The first time I started NoS I made it through 20 days and blew it on the 21st. Somehow, I could never get started again after that.

I long to be back. Can one start on an a Sunday, or does that not really make SenSe?

Re-committing (again) and a question

Some years ago, I lost 140 pounds by following a diet, and I kept the weight off for seven years. Needless to say, there were many, many bad days during those years, but even when I wasn't actually on the diet on a given day, I was still committed to it. I didn't not jump from diet to diet mentally ...
