A prodigal No-Ser
I've just come back to No-S after close to a year. I started on Tuesday. For some reason, it's different this time. It's easier. I'm taking it more seriously, and I've had 4 green days in a row. Tonight is DH's birthday party with family, and I'm going to enjoy the treats without guilt. And, I've lo...

T-Tapp is a little bit like yoga or pilates, but there's more movement involved (not holding poses). It's a great strength training program but you use your own body for resistance...no weights. Your heart rate really gets up there too. When I started over 3 years ago I lost inches like crazy...abou...

I do intervals on the treadmill, and I just started using Russian kettlebells. I did SG for a couple of weeks and I really liked it, but decided to give the kettlebells a try, and I can't really do both. I've also done T-Tapp for about 3 years, but I think it's time to try something else for a while...

Hi all, I'm still here! I actually had a red day on Thursday (got into "holiday weekend" mode too early). :? But, I'm doing SOOOO much better than I was before July started, that I can't complain much. Since then I"ve been green all the way. I think I learned a lesson from it too: that when you star...

Female, 33. Three kids, one husband, and 1 chocolate lab mix named Phoebe. I glanced at the No-S site probably a year ago or so, but didn't do anything about it. Then I heard about it again on the T-Tapp forums a couple months ago. After a couple of false starts and falling off the wagon for a bit, ...

Reinhard is right...if he hadn't put "diet" on the cover, nobody would read it. But the great thing about this is its permanence. When you do it for a while, it becomes a automatic...a habit. And then, the word "diet" can fade into the distance. The thing I like best about No-S is that it's NOT abou...

July challenge...anyone up for it?
Starting Tuesday, July 1st, I'm going to buckle down (after those silly false start things) and go for NO RED DAYS in JULY. I figure it's a pretty good month to try it, since I've got Independence Day, my birthday, and my son's birthday as non-weekend S days to let me cut loose a little. I figured i...

I'm new to the shovelglove thing...did my first full workout with it this morning. Let's just say it aint' for sissies! I warmed up first with 15 minutes of aerobics, and by the time I was done shrugging, I was dripping in sweat. Didn't time myself though...I was just trying to learn the moves. Next...

I am also a small-boned woman of 5'0". I weigh about 150, and I wear about a size 8. If I were to get down to 95 or 100 pounds I'd look sick. Several years ago before I started having kids, I lost about 60 pounds and got down to 120. I was a solid 4/6 then and felt terrific. Since I do have 3 kids n...

Definitely Friday, because I'm in weekend mode! Last Friday we went out for dinner as usual, and mine happened to come with a freshly-baked chocolate chip cookie. Um...red square for me. :? What I need to do (besides ordering stuff that doesn't come with cookies...lol) is just enjoy the meal more, s...

Sweets are sweeter
There is such a difference for me on the sweets now. I can't count the number of times I snacked on whatever sweet thing (usually overdoing it), and of course felt guilty about it later thinking, "it didn't even taste that good...WHY did I eat it?" But now, that guilt is absent. Last weekend I treat...

Hi Mom! :D Let's see...where to begin? 1. I'm not afraid of starch anymore 2. I'm sleeping better 3. My tummy feels flatter 4. I'm more...ahem...regular. Really! 5. I'm enjoying food again. Really enjoying it...not scarfing it down. Like someone else said--meals are an event. Not something you rush ...

Hi ladies (hi Pam!), Thanks for the encouragement. New habits is definitely where it's at. Once those new habits are firmly in place, the struggle will be over. Isn't that a great feeling? Hang in there Pam. Adm Assistant day sounds like an S-day to me--or at least an S-event. Do you have the book? ...

It's getting easier!
I started NO-Sing on the 11th, and I've had a few slips, making today day #11 on habit. I'm really loving this whole thing. So much freedom, so simple. I always thought I had to be told what to eat and what not to eat. I always thought I needed some sort of food list. I was wrong. And day by day, it...

T-Tapp is a super wonderful exercise program. You buy DVDs on their webiste, T-Tapp.com. And once you learn it, you can do the Basic Workout in 15 minutes! Using the T-Tapp Total Workout, I went from a size 14 to a size 6 in about a year. It's strength training, but there's NO impact, NO weights. Yo...

Hi all! I've been lurking for the past few days and decided to go ahead and say hi. I found out about NoS on the T-Tapp forums, and I think it will be super helpful to me. I've always been kind of a mindless snacker...not because I NEED something to eat but because it's a habit. It's time to break i...
