I went and checked it out and made it through part 3..........with my mouth open in sheer disbelief, I might add! Even her cat wouldn't eat the left over food!! :D God help us all if this mentality stays "alive and well"! I feel so very sorry for those young girls...

Just Jill, you are so right about the OA bit...been there did that and bought the shirt! But when I didn't keep the weight off, I felt like I was that "bad" child again and fell back into the eating and dieting marigoround. I like the idea of the Reactionariers! Especially when it pertains to gettin...

So glad I read this forum! I too have been a slave to the scale and had just said in another post that I was going to put it in the closet so it couldn't continually beckon to me! I don't want an object or a diet to control me any longer. I don't care, either, if it takes 2 years or more to get back...

Thanks blueskighs! I'm thinking I will have to move the scale from the bathroom to the closet as it keeps "calling" me!!! :) I am going to TRY to wait a month before weighing..altho I might be going to the doctor on Monday and if so, I know they will weigh me........with my (gasp!) clothes on...and ...

I am wondering what the attraction of being a size 4 is as every diet aid/commercial I see anymore has all of these women bitching because they were a size 10 and couldn't handle it so they went on this "ideal" plan and got down to a size 4!!! No wonder we have such screwed up diet mentality when we...

Had a choelestral (sp) test done this a.m. and they also did a blood sugar...which read half way in the pre-diabetic range. Never in all my wildest dreams did I figure that I would be facing something like this in my "retirement" years. I will give my dr. until tomorrow to contact me about the readi...

oh my! I had forgotten the "gray sheet"! Yes, it was so like the atkins/stillman diet...........but I did the stillman diet and got deathly sick.....before the oa program. Yes, I agree it probably did make me into a better person and helped me get rid of some baggage that I carried with me for oh so...

Did OA years ago and must say that the memories aren't that good. We had a small group...only about 5 of us and one of them was very good at making you feel pretty small. She was going to therapy as well and thought she knew it all and could twist things around that you said until you thought someth...

hey, it is okay to be human and have a slip up! Why do we think we have to follow it perfectly from the get go? After all, most of us have been on so many diets that allowed and almost insisted that you eat between meals that we have a lot of diet mentality to overcome and it won't always happen ove...

I figure I have given up so much over the years with all the diets and in his book he says "glass ceiling limit" so I guess if it takes me a little longer to lose the weight....so be it. Growing up as I did in the midwest...the only salads I remember were pea salad, potato salad, coleslaw, carrot/pineapple/jello salad or jello salad with fruit cocktail in it. I think it was probably just lettuce wedges with a 'french" style dressing on it if we ever did have lettuce salads. Lettuce ...

Crazy Cat Lady, I find that as long as I get enough protein with each of the 3 meals, I do fine. It is when I eat cereal with no protein that I go bonkers in about 2 hours. If I try it again using whole milk, it might help. Or at least I know that I can have a small glass of milk between breakfast a...
