I really appreciate all your replies. After I posted on Sat. I did much better, in fact, really well. Now it's Sunday, and I've already eaten too much - much more than I had planned to, especially sweets. But perhaps, being so full, I won't eat much until this evening, when I'm going out for dinner....

I agree with both of you - I spend the weekend worrying that I will wipe out the good effort of the week. I also wonder how you can build up a 21 day habit when you are taking two days off after every five days of forming the habit.

Don't like s days

I love my no s days, I feel so much in control, but when s days come, I feel like I'm on a diet. "Should I eat this? Should I eat that? I'll have to wait a whole week before I can eat this again, so I'd better eat it now. Or should I?" This is my third s weekend, I'm doing a little better than my fi...

I agree with all of you. Isn't it wonderful?! It's amazing what just 3 no s's can do for you. I, too, love to cook, and it's so much fun to make all my "real" recipes again, without any guilt at all, and to really enjoy eating food because I'm truly hungry. I want this to go on forever.

21 day question

Do you count just No S days or do you include S days in the 21 day challenge?

I FINALLY got my copy of the book from Amazon, and I love it. First of all, I was very impressed by the endorsement from Miriam Nelson. I've read most of her Strong Women books and have tried following her Strong Women Stay Slim, but, like most diet books, you do have to be able to count. But she di...

Congratulations on your wieght loss and your sticking with it. I just finished reading your blog, and was really impressed. As an English teacher, I'd give you an Aplus, it's so well written. I, too, have done many, many diets - I have a whole shelf full of diet books - but so far, find the nos to b...

When you're going for 21 days, do you only count no s days, or do the weekends count, too? I've been successfully nosing for 14 days now, counting s's, and feel great and really on top of things. It's wonderful not to have to think of "dieting" per se.

Do any of you eat "real" food, like meatloaf or casseroles or hamburger helper or do you pretty much try to eat "healthy"? I always have veggies and salad with my meal (on the same plate, of course) but I do eat a lot of pasta and ordinary things. I also eat at taco bell or panera's about once a wee...

meals

I'm amazed at all the healthy foods you people eat! Does anyone ever eat Spaghetti & meatballs or lasagna or, even worse, fettucine alfredo? With a salad on your plate, the portion wouldn't be that big. How about hot dogs or hamburgers? Casseroles? Real meat & potatoes meals? Otherwise I'd feel that...

Day 8

Another day done, actually my first week done. I had meals out on three days, but didn't feel guilty about what I ate and when I totaled up the calories of what I ate on those days (out of curiiousity, not necessity) it was less then on diet days with snacks. Impressive and a very liberating feeling...

Congratulations on making it to day 21 - I can hardly wait to get there. Do the s days get easier or better as you go along? My first weekend was awful. You're doing great - an inspiration.

1st s weekend

I didn't do too badly on Sat., but Sun. was disastrous - one big snack day. Now I'm looking forward to next weekend to try again. Weekends are always hard for me.

healthy eating

You eat such healthy food! I am really impressed. Hopefully I will get there, too. Even though I'm just starting no s, I feel it really is a liberating diet - it gives you a sense of calmness and control, except on s days. I'll have to work on those.

sday

I don't think I quite like s days - it's too easy to act like an idiot. I did all right for a while, then really went off the deep end and ate everything in sight. Hopefully next weekend will be better. Any hints on how to prepare for it? (I'm waiting for my book to come from Amazon, maybe there's s...

my last diet checkin

Started last Wed.; nos days perfect, s days acted like an idiot for a while, then realized that I don't have to eat everything I've always wanted in one weekend. I've either been thinking of dieting, been on a diet, or goning off a diet forever. This makes sense.
