No S and IBS

So, I'm doing the No S diet...mainly because I found myself eating a lot of junk food and candy--not so much because I wanted it but out of habit. Regardless, I'm finding that the hunger between meals is pretty intense. And I suffer from horrible IBS, so hunger pangs go beyond pangs and into nausea ...

Well, I also have PCOS, so is it possible that this diet is not meant for those of us with hormonal issues?

Not likely. I've calculated it before and I rarely eat more than 1,200 calories/day on an N day, if that.

And last weekend when I was on vacation and had less control over what I ate and ate more than usual, I didn't gain any weight.

So I'm thinking that for me No-S stands for No-Success. LOL

It's been a month on the No-S

And I've actually gained two pounds.

What's THAT about?

And no, not two pounds today from water weight or dinner, but when I average out my weight over the past months, the mean is actually going up.

It's an S day...what's your treat?

Just curious what everyone likes to splurge on during their S days...

Me--chocolate malt and curly fries. I'm not a huge chocolate fiend nor much into ice cream, but I do love a malt.

Re: What if one of my meals stinks?

Hi everyone, I'm new so please forgive this probably stupid question. But, what do you do when one of your meals just doesn't work. What if you are having dinner at a friend's house and she searves something awful and you eat a little of it and soon after find you are still hungry? Or for some othe...

Who said it had to be three full meals? If small quantities works better for you what about 4/5/6 mini meals? That said, from your original post I, too, am worried you aren't eating enough. That's true, but (honest question here) how would I work that in the No-S diet? I'm probably not eating enoug...

Re: The one-plate plan for someone who doesn't cook

I think my issue is more than just my kitchen, but also just trying to wrap my head around the whole plate concept in the diet. I'm uncertain how to "test" how much food I can eat and feel full since my appetite is different everyday. And I just haven't been able to put much fuss into food on a dai...

my guidelines have been if sugar is in the first three listed ingredients.. We can choose any personal guidelines we wish, because in the No S diet each of us gets the right to define sweets as he or she individually chooses. with...of course...the caveat: "Don't Be An Idot". Please read it again. ...

Re: The one-plate plan for someone who doesn't cook

Thanks for the lecture, mom. Suggestions are always appreciated, condescension is not. I don't think Wosnes was trying to be condescending. She was just pointing out that it's easy to make reasons into excuses. Which it is, for all of us, so no need to take offense. And when folks are brainstorming...

I'm going to ask a question that may sound obnoxious, but really isn't meant to be: If grazing is working for you, why are you considering No-S at all? Stick with what works. We're all unique. Well, grazing isn't working for me, per se, because it can easily lead to snacking and boredom eating. I r...

I also wonder about skipping meals...

That was a good question brought up, and it relates to my situation. I've always been a grazer, and I rarely eat a lot in one sitting. (Mostly this is due to having IBS since I was 11 and I quickly go from hungry to nauseated if I started to hit on satiated). I have to "test eat" to make sure my sto...

Edit: I realize you also posted the sugar cravings thread. IMHO having more balanced meals should help. If you display your food in a plate it's much easier to evaluate the proportion of veggies, protein and starch, and make sure that you eat about 1/3 to 1/2 veggies, and 1/4 to 1/3 starch and prot...

Re: The one-plate plan for someone who doesn't cook

I'm single, live alone, and rarely cook because I have the world's most inefficient kitchen and no dishwasher. So when it comes to the no-seconds part of the plan, how can I do that when I'm rarely eating off a plate, but more like a sandwich out of a paper towel and a cheese stick? It's sad, I kno...

I'd probably say yes because you can see the sugar crystals on it. LOL But my guidelines have been if sugar is in the first three listed ingredients...it is for that reason I had to give up my frosted mini wheats during the week...DOH!

Sugar Cravings

I wanna hear everyone's experiences with sugar cravings the first week or two of being on this diet. I'm not a horrible sugar junkie. I will eat candy or some baked item but it's not a daily thing...I don't do coffee drinks, sugar pop, or any drink with added sugar. My problem was more getting over ...
