One day, seen in the context of many thousands of days/meals, doesn't make much difference. You have the right attitude, in my opinion. Move on, postpone self-flagellation.

"Ideal" weight for whom? Such a simplistic formula fails to take many things into consideration. That's why the BMI, while not without its limitations either, is my preference for calculating a healthy weight. The BMI has a range, rather than one weight for everyone of the same height/sex. Skinny wo...

I walk with a pedometer (doesnt' count otherwise :)) and I take belly-dance classes. Yes, really!! Five minutes of a basic hip shimmy and it's like running a marathon! Bellydance is the only exercise I've ever done that I do for the joy of it, although I started just for the exercise. And the 15 pou...

Many people need some time to find a normal relationship with food again. Lots of us have 2 modes-diet or binge, and when we take the leash off, of course we go too far-at first. But after awhile, you, like most of us who have been doing this for a while, probably won't really want to eat that way a...

I like to take leftovers from dinner. Saves time and money because I don't like to eat leftovers for the next day's dinner, but I don't mind them for lunch. I really like hot lunches.

went on vacation and lost weight

First time that ever happened. But I've been doing No-s for 12 weeks (I think-it's getting so that I'm losing track) and the habits are very strong. AND I went to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico! All food, drinks (including alcohol) and snacks were included. But I just did my 3 meals a day, and on...

I've walked for years with a pedometer strapped to my waistband and a determined look on my face. :) However, it didn't make me lose weight, although it might have helped me keep my weight from climbing even higher. I consider walking a beauty routine, though, and keep my mind focussed on its health...

All my French friends diet. They think of snacking as out of bounds., and they are careful not to overeat. They think about their weight on a daily basis, but where I (like a lot of Americans, I suspect) think that those last 10 lbs are here to stay, all my French friends believe, and take action to...

If you are a person that has enough will power to take all of the bad foods out of your diet throughout the week, and then eat sensibly over the week/end, the diet may work. But for most of you overweight people... to bluntly state it... you like to eat a lot. Not eating during the week will kill yo...

You know, I haven't had peanut butter in the house in years, unless I was binging. I think PB is the next food that I'm going to learn to deal with normally. PB and toast in the morning sounds excellent. I like variety-haven't been bored at all on No-s; quite the contrary, since I'm cooking better a...

you can do it

...yes you can. Stop believing that you are a food addict, or rather, accept that we are ALL food addicts or we'd die-nature made us this way!!! This plan does work; I've done it for 7 weeks now, and lost ten pounds. I keep telling myself that I still have to eat, whatever I do, and I don't want to ...

...that I would have previously binged on. This includes chocolate, cashews, cheese, and ice cream. I eat a bit on S days and enjoy them. I'm very glad to be able to relate in a normal way to ALL food, which I never could before.

No S-ing in my dreams

Have now done NO-s for 4 weeks and lost 5 lbs. Last night I dreamed that I was on a plane and was snacking. I was quite upset in the dream! Too funny.

so much for compulsive overeating

I'm convinced that compulsive overeating is the result of weird diets. Now that I can eat 3 good meals a day, my whole approach is different. No sneaking, no cravings that I can't resist, no binging, and NO GUILT. I enjoy food now in a way I never have before. I've lost 5 pounds in a month, and I re...

feelgood's daily check in

First post-made it to day 21-success. Never done a diet/habit whatever you call it this long. Today was hard but I kept going. Yes! Weekend coming, want to be more conservative than I was last weekend. :D
