T 5/20 Day 7 The weekend went pretty well. Not overly great, but I'm getting more and more on this plan everyday. Which is a good thing. I've kinda broken down all the dates below. Overall, not great, but not bad in my opinion. Here I go. I need to get on here more on the weekend. ;) B: Yogurt S: t...

Eat more at your meals. Seriously, I used to get weird hypoglycemic attacks between meals; not any more, not once since starting on No S. Magic food item: beans. They're a protein! They're a carb! They have a mood altering chemical in them similar to tryptophan! They're low fat! A half a cup of tho...

Hi back and thanks. A couple of you have talked about the "diet mentality". Wouldn't that go for NoS too? As in following the rules to a T, or doing it, because they said so? Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding what you mean by "diet mentality". I don't personally think I have one, but maybe I'm w...

3. What do you mean by "caloric drink"? To me, that seems backwards. I cant' EAT anything (aka snack), because it's extra "calories", but I should drink something with calories? I don't understand this concept. Have I missed it somewhere in the "teachings" on the web? Or is this in the book? (haven...

Dawn's quite right. You gotta go with the habit first. Don't try to "diet" as in "choose small amounts of low calorie foods" first. You want to be rigid about No S first. Example. I walked over to the grocery store with my daughter (we were out of oatmeal), and she went over to the samples by the b...

Hi Kelela 92, I know exactly what you're saying about being too hungry before a meal. I have the same problem now and then. I remedy that as best I can with a drink of hot cocoa which really helps. But there are those days when a hot beverage isn't going to cut it, so I will eat something small and...

Kelela, Forgive yourself and start over. You're right that you might be eating too much at a meal at first, and that might be what you need to get started. It won't be long before you feel less of a need to pile your plate high. Just realize that it is not a "cheat" to do that if you need to, espec...

I've had this happen and it usually happens in one of these circumstances: 1. I've skipped a meal. 2. I've not eaten enough at the previous meal. 3. I've had to wait longer than expected for the next meal. Any or all of these happened more frequently than I liked when I was working, but sometimes t...

If your hunger time problem is between lunch & dinner/supper, which it is for a lot of us, then my suggestion is to eat a bigger lunch, and/or drink a glass of (whole) milk between meals (as Reinhard suggests). Or see if you can adjust your lunch or dinner time so they're not too far apart...4-5 ho...

Re: No Snacking leading to binging?
Here is someting I do when I am in starvation mode before a meal, try dinking a glass of water before, during and after the meal. The water before gets the edge off, the water during helps with digestion and helps signal the brain that you are getting full and the water after helps you feel fuller....

No Snacking leading to binging?
I wanted to post this, only because I see binge eating here and there, and talking about fear, and punishment, but although I feel it's not applicable to me, maybe some of you can help me out. My problem is, and has been because I have seen the pattern, that if I am starving before a meal (to the po...

Re: Blood Sugar issues anyone?
Although I just started, I was concerned about this too. Especially since yesterday I was very lethargic around 4ish. I pushed through it and by the time I had dinner at 6:30pm I was starving. I ate dinner, then started binging because I was still hungry. I think I'll try what everyone has suggested...

Th 5/15 Day 2 Well, it's come to my attention that I can't go without snacks. Couple reasons why. 1. I am lethargic after a few hours and at work, that doesnt' work. 2. I binge eat later So, last night, I was doing good. No snacks. Then I ate dinner. Then I started binging on M&M's, popcorn, anythi...

Wed, May 14 Day 1 Well, how does this figure. I eat a half to full large banana before I work out (otherwise I get burnt fast). Then after I workout, I eat my breakfast. Is that considered cheating? LOL. No seriously, I'm assuming it's not considered a snack since I need it, and it later becomes pa...

Re: Exercise Equipment
I'm new here. :) Second post of the day. I agree with the PP that said buy what you'll use. For myself, I chose an elliptical. Why? Because at the time, I lived on the 3rd floor of an apt complex and a treadmill, I'm sure I'd rock the ceiling of the ppl below me. So, if the equipment is going on a s...

Kelela's Check-In
Okay. I'm here. New to this all. I love the concept mostly because I am 100% horrible at following plans (counting calories, eating specific things, cutting out a lot of things, etc). I know I need to create new habits, and that's why I'm here. So, tomorrow is Day 1. Today, I'm just trying to read a...
