Also, I am starting by eliminating just a single "S": snacking. Once I've managed to establish the no snacking habit (hopefully it will take around 21 days), I will move on to seconds and then sweets.

No S does work because the rules are simple. I just need to follow them and save my sweets for the weekend. I really shouldn't be modifying No S when I haven't given it a real chance to work.

I just have to accept that if I want to lose for the long term, I'll have to be patient, which is hard because my mindset is not fixed that way. At this point I'll be very happy if I can lose 3-5 lbs a month.

Embarrassing confession No. 1: Today I picked up my 12 lb. Shovelglove for the first time and had a heck of a time completing the proper number of No Name lifts. Could my arms really be so weak? Thanks all. The worst part of the hurricane for my wife and I was losing our dogs, who we loved dearly. But we have persevered with the help of two new puppies and it's now time for me to get down to business and start taking care of myself. :-)
