Your husband sounds very supportive (if a little misguided in this case).

Many people here have at one point or another avoided telling people they are on a diet because of this type of "helpful" advice.

Okay, that is an awesome way of thinking about it! Now I can just imagine a drill sergeant voice yelling "Stay in formation" whenever I want a snack. I will try not to think "Stand your ground, men! Stand your ground!" like in the Princess Bride. Instead of eating I indulge in smellories, sniffing s...

Free signed copy of the book (and my eternal gratitude) to whoever submits photos. And if Ja...

I like to take only an S-day and a half (Saturday and the part of Friday that I am not at work). Since I am still not quite past the "go crazy on S-days" phase this helps out a little and gives me Sunday to recover before I have to face the world.

A big juicy cheeseburger is just fine. Sometimes my lunch is a meal deal from chain restaurant X. Welcome Jesse! Good to have you around!

Taking things home is a good way to do it. People don't feel bad because you refused their love (in the form of food) but you get to control when and where you eat. Plus, you defuse the deprived feelings you might otherwise get.

I have lost about 35 pounds in almost two years on No-S (and still headed downward). Of course, from what I've heard, when you have a lot to lose the first part comes off fast and the lower amounts take forever. So since you are closer to your weight goal it might take you longer. Or maybe you exerc...

Ice Cream Sandwich

This is sort-of from the department of duh, but I only figured it out recently. Take some chocolate graham crackers and a tub of ice-cream. Break a cracker in half, or use two whole ones or fourths, whatever size you want. Then scoop ice cream and sandwich it between the crackers. Voila! An ice-crea...

Good for you! 25# in one year is great!

And remember that taking things slow is fine. As long as you are aware of a problem (like snacking) and also know how to beat it (Habit! Rah!) you will beat it eventually.

You can also think of it as setting a good example for your children.
