Re: Reflections on No-S and BLE

(a) The ratio of marketing hype to usable info is much inflated. Thanks so much for posting about this! A friend's husband (no longer local to me but I knew them years ago) lost a ton of weight (150 lbs. in about 9 months) doing BLE, so I have been curious. I did notice the overlap and also that it...

It took me over 2 years to decide I'd really prefer meals on S days to "grazing." I think no training wheels means that we eventually learn moderation *most* of the time. That doesn't mean S days become N days--there are still rewards on S days. But it means we don't go all crazy and binge-eat everything we want just because it's an S day--it means, hopefully, eventually, we calm...

LOL, I forget that my days are "different" than everyone else's when I post like that too!

Looking forward to the New Year!

Merry Christmas, everyone, and pleasurable eating!
Sorry for the confusion--I do Fridays instead of Saturdays for my first S day, and brownies were on Saturday!

Merry Christmas!

Well, the breakfast casserole is made and ready to bake tomorrow morning. And we'll do a roast in the crock pot for dinner. Had everything wrapped the 23rd, so today I just enjoyed a lovely evening of carols and scripture reading, lots of candles and lights at church, and then a Christmas movie with...

I think your analysis is right on--a week of eating in a restaurant daily would (and has) made me gain 5 lbs, and most of that is just the salt/water retention. It usually takes me a week or two back at home and normal routines to come back to normal. But the good part is that you're laying a solid ...

It's all very vague, because I'm afraid to weigh myself, but I'm pretty sure that I haven't lost much weight since starting No-S. I FEEL very much better, though, and not just emotionally--my clothes are all size 12s, but they fit and I don't have to be scared that a run through the dryer will have...

Finally went shopping for jeans (I had one pair that fit and two that were on the big side). Feels good to get more jeans that FIT! And I like Gloria Vanderbilt. She thinks I'm a size smaller than Rider does, LOL! Oh the mind games!

Good day. The cookies were tempting but I did not eat them. Good bowl of soup for supper. I really enjoy soup. Got extra projects accomplished besides homeschooling the children. Was amazing to have a good day after a very disrupted night with a sick baby who thankfully was fine today. Wow, I'm imp...

My dh was prediabetic about 10 years ago, and his dr. gave him 3 months to try to turn things around or consider medication. I have been reflecting some more as we approach Christmas. To add to my post on Monday, it struck me today (in the staff room mid morning as I gazed at the biscuit tin) I have never actually been tempted to give up completely on NoS. Not once. I have had temptations, I have stayed strong at times a...

177# today. I intend to rack up a set of greens this week. I went back to my old standby of soup for lunch, this time curried red lentil soup that I made with lots of veggies and some chicken broth. It was delicious and good for the cold weather. In case anyone wants a recipe for some inspiration: ...
