This is per one of the guys I like to obsess on, Stephen Guyenet. I came out stress and exercise, though the way the questions were phrased, I sometimes answered as if some things were no problem at all when they occasionally are. It's funny about the stress because I'm never sure if I truly eat bec...

Sounds like the body exerting its desire for homeostasis. Oh, well. I personally think it's better to know this might happen and not see it as a sign of failure (maybe you've said the same yourself in previous posts), but as a rather natural part of the process for most of us. Re: Does the urge to snack go away in time?

After several years in, in my case, I would say it comes and goes. Though when I was a working teacher, the urge to snack in the afternoons, in the hours between the end of classes and dinner that used to be the start of the sweets-eating that often went on until bedtime, just about never went away....

Hello! I've missed this whole year with you, I think. Belated welcome. Why do we do it (overeat to the point of discomfort) to ourselves? The explanation I have liked the most is something called the "cram factor." Humans in the past were rewarded with survival for cramming food when available. Even...

Sometimes I wonder if a hypnotist could wipe out the memory of every having been concerned with my eating and weight. Of course, I'm at an age where that could happen within a few years- but I could lose a lot of other memories, too. Hmm.

Anyway, happy eating this May.

IMHO, health conditions are good reasons for diets, or food restrictions. No S is not meant to treat health conditions, though some may use it that way.
