Thanks :) "Accidentally" finished off a bar of chocolate this morning, because there wasn't much sensible food in the house. Got some decent stuff for later, though, going to have a baked potato with cheese and a bit of chicken breast (got two small ones, will give my kid one and a half, as she is g...

Oops, forgot to log in. Have been doing mostly okay, slipped up a couple more times in the week but nothing too incredibly awful, then had a fairly sensible sort of weekend. Weighed myself yesterday morning and I seem to be down a pound :)

Thanks! Well, I ended up finishing off the chocolate, but aside from that I did okay, am having two 'normal' and two 'small' meals because I have to take medicine three times a day and the afternoon ones can't be on an empty stomach, plus I have health issues so I think it's better to do four rather...

Giving it another go.

Hi. I tried the NoS a few years ago, but for one reason and another didn't stick to it very long. Anyway, I've recently put on a load of weight for a combination of reasons (medication, disability, stress, etc.) and I'm not massively happy about it, so when I came across the book in a box I was sort...

So, today's been a red day. Not a terrible, scene-from-Dexter sort of red, though. I had a couple of nuts because I misjudged my breakfast idea (too little protein) and later bought a single Baci(o) from the Italian deli and ater it on the way to pick up DD from school. I had a nice dinner and finis...

I had a really nice lunch yesterday which could well become a 'default' (it requires kitchen, so only for days when I'm at home - when I go back to work it will be part time so that's still a couple of weekdays every week): Cook some pasta (spaghetti's probably ideal but I used penne and it was v ni...

Two more greens, I'm experimenting with another tweak, classing Friday evening as S (and Sunday evening as N). Have decided to try and find at least one or two types of fish I like, I went to the market today and bought (among other things) a small piece of monkfish, which I cooked in a little olive...

I'm borrowing Kathleen's mod and allowing myself a 'flexi-S' day, i.e. a midweek S day that isn't for an amazingly special reason, but is useful in keeping self 'on track'. I don't have any NWS days coming up till March, so I think it's safe... Anyway, basically my friend (ex colleague) took me out ...

Well, I had a snack last night, of an apple and a small piece of Raw chocolate (probably a mistake, this stuff is very strong!) at about 9.30 after finally getting DD to bed... I'm still counting it as a green day, though, because my dinner was both early and hardly huge (tbh I'm used to not particu...

Rah, another green day! (yesterday was green, too). I made vegetable soup in the slow cooker (was meaning to do it yesterday but left it too late - I did make lovely bolognese sauce last night though, which is portioned up in the fridge and freezer) and had some of the vegetables with some chicken f...

My Dad learned Dutch at an evening course, and we went to Belgium and Holland a few times on holiday, I've always been interested in languages and learned German, French and Italian at school, so my dad pointed out some differences between German and Dutch, as it's nice to be able to avoid the commo...

Hi, hope the modification works for you :) I'm afraid I don't speak much Dutch, but I know enough to be able to tell if someone's speaking Dutch rather than German if I overhear a conversation.

Yay, my first green day!

Hi again. Hurray, I've just ticked off my first green day :D Slept in today, then had a cereal bar and some fruit for breakfast (didn't really fancy proper full on breakfast as it was only a few hours till lunch, the bar is high fibre and reasonably sensible/non-S). We had lunch at about 1.30, I had...

Not sure what the etiquette is on bringing back old threads, so I hope this is ok! I'm rereading a book I bought a few years ago but never really followed, called the Fat Fallacy - it's similar in many ways to NoS, but based heavily around the idea of mimicking the French diet/eating habits. One of ...

Well, today went a little differently than I planned, DD refused to come shopping with me, so at about 3pm I took her to my mum's (after quite a bit of arguing, but she's strong willed!! DD, not my mum... well, both are strong willed, but I was arguing with DD, not Mum ;)) I hadn't managed to have a...

Anwen's daily check in

Hi there, I've just joined up today, have been reading for a few days and ordered the book (second hand, I'm afraid...) a couple of days ago. I am counting yesterday as day 1, though I've classed today and yesterday both as S days, will have Sunday as an N day to even things up a little. Haven't bee...
