Have you considered doing push-ups leaning against a wall, countertop or desk? You might also experiment using push-up handles. They make push-ups possible for those who have problems with dorsal flexion.

That's a lot of sugar in your first meal. If you're pre-diabetic, it is important to control (not necessarily eliminate) carbs, especially the refined variety.

I agree with srbliss. Less starchy, refined foods; more natural, whole food sources and protein with every meal. Protein seems to be the key for me in remaining satisfied between meals. I love the concept of shovelglove. It truly fits into the category of "functional fitness." I doubt we'll ever use it on the blog for one simple reason: the need for apparatus, i.e. a sledgehammer. A protein breakfast smoothie works great for me. I make mine with 8oz. OJ, 1 scoop of protein powder (20g Protein, very little sugar), 4 Tbs. Plain Nonfat Yogurt, and 2 Bananas.
