Re: H2Orange-- A STRATEGY TO AVOID URGE FOR SNACKS

STRATEGY FOR HELPING TO ELIMINATE THE URGE TO SNACK and A TWIST ON WATER CONSUMPTION! I’m new to the site but have been following the No S guidelines for several weeks. (I will admit however that I’ve only really followed it carefully for a couple of weeks. . .I think I’m getting closer to th...

I was really excited when I read this thread. I finally found some chocolate extract type stuff at one of the local grocery stores. Daughter and I made some chocolate mint water… And gagged. That was some horrible tasting water. We couldn't get the taste out of our mouths the rest of the day, eve...

Hey Veronica it's great that we're more or less in the same boat .. I'm going to have to sort myself out for some really good weighing scales though because mine just keep giving me a different reading every time give or take a pound! Last night my fat-day jeans still felt a bit on the tight side, w...

Re: Question about pizza

OK dilemma... after a successful N Day so far, we're going for pizza tonight.. The idiot in me is saying "But it's ONE plate!!" .. does that mean I'll have to mark it as a Failure if say I eat the whole thing? (Am famished by the way; so far today I've only had a tiny bowl of cereal for breakfast a...

Yea for libraries!

I love checking books out from our local library and having the book available in libraries means more exposure. I however had to have my own personal copy which is now highlighted to death.

Welcome

Hi, This is my second week so I'm pretty new here, but I do know that the time just before dinner is a killer. If you get famished I suggest you add a mini-meal; class of milk and a stick of string cheese, fruit and cheese- that kind of thing. Keep it small and try adjusting your lunch so maybe you ...

Metromint water- make your own knock off

I went to vistit my best friend for a few days in Houston. She and her husband are very continental. They have no children so they have they latest in gourmet foods and the finest furniture, while those of us with kids make due with cheerios and bean bags. Anyway- she pulled out some Metromint choco...

Re: Success with mini 4th "meal"

I have been noSing for a year and a half now, and have been trying to stick with 3 meals (and I"m successful most of the week) but then I get to supper, and I wind up with this "last supper" mentality and my plate is piled HIGH and I mean, I'll squeak 2 or 3 dinner rolls around the rim of the plate...

Happy with the book too

I am very happy with the book. It answers questions like how to deal with soup, what is considered a sweet and overall why this should work. I was very happy with the answers and glad I did not have to spend a lifetime searching the boards. It is a great primer.

I recently got a set of Corelle "luncheon" plates, 8.5 inches, with dividers in them -- the pattern is Winter Frost White and it comes divided or undivided. The dividers roughly split the plate into a half and two quarters. I have found it really helpful for keeping my veggie portion nice and big a...

Short women and pounds

Five ft tall and 84 pounds? Shudders! 84 lbs is underweight, however, I've found that taller, large-boned women have difficulty accepting the low weights that are reasonable for small-boned short women. Here are some numbers to put that height and weight in perspective. For A 5'0" Female, the major...

Munchies during prep period

Welcome, vcanfield. I am a teacher, too. :) I find that during prep periods I get the munchies, so last school year, while I was counting calories to lose weight (I hadn't yet discovered no S) I would try to chew gum and drink water to keep from snacking. This school year, I will try to do the same...

Anybody use a special plate? Not size-wise

I decided to go out and get a special plate. No, it is not a serving platter, it is just a one I particularly liked- a square Japanese-style plate. I have decided to use this for all my home meals. Anyone else done this or is it uniquely mine?

I am not a blog reader myself, usually. However, your site is simply lovely and not a chore to browse. I think this even calls for a backflip (web based book marks). Thanks for providing a great site for all to enjoy.

I get the shakes too

I have hypoglycemia and I get the shakes when I have been eating badly. Sugar/processed carbs/ not enough fat or protein can send me into a crash. Oh, caffeine does that also. Make sure you are getting enough fat and proteins as well as some carbs, better if they are not so processed. I have also re...

I love hungrygirl.com. The site owner just came out with a new book. I think she has some good ideas on helping with the moderation aspect of things. I like looking at her recipes because sugar is my nemesis.

Well Folks, I never thought it could happen! But, Sugar and my body aren't really getting along anymore. Its so weird, because Sugar has been one of my best buddies for years. Yesterday was a borderline Idiot S day. We went to a picnic and there were all kinds of cookies. Fresh. Homemade. Chocolate...

Back after 2 years

I found this site 2 years ago and thought it was a pretty cool idea. However, I think I was not really ready for it so I slipped it into the "examine this later, if you remember" mental file. So, just 2 days ago I stumbled on the book at Amazon.com while perusing the diet books. You see, I have been...

Hello from San Antonio

Hi to all, I have been lurking for a little while. My name is Veronica and I live in San Antonio. I recently went on the South Beach diet for, oh... 5 hours.
