Thanks for your encouragement. I see the logic in what you are saying and that helps not to get so down when a weight gain is staring back at you from the scales. The other component of this that I did not mention is how much BETTER I FEEL throughout the week when I'm not overeating and how AWFUL I ...

Bummer

Weighed this morning and that 1 1/2 lb. that I'd dropped after over a month of NOSing was back. I think if it weren't for overeating so much on weekends, that I would slowly drop these 10 - 12 lbs that I need to loose. I'm eating reasonably Monday through Friday...not starvation, but as the diet say...

Thalia's "Gone Wild S Weekend"!

Thanks for your response. It's comforting to know others enjoyed one of those as well! At least we had fun. You are right, the secret, I think, is getting back on track. I do need however, to find a way not to loose track so badly on weekends!

Bad Holiday Weekend

After over a month of faithful weekly Nosing this was the most horrific weekend I've had! It was of course, the first holiday weekend so I'm taking that into consideration. On Saturday we went to a BBQ Cooking Contest where the cost of admission allowed you to eat BBQ into eternity. I did. I continu...

vmsurbat - smaller scale

Great thoughts about decreasing "one bite at a time" on foods with higher calorie density! It's really helpful to hear other people's ideas and success. Your post is very encouraging for those of us who are still waiting for a smaller belt size. It's great to know that it can and does happen. Thanks...

Many of us are in that same "guilt trap" of feeling defeated, hopeless and helpless if we think we've slipped off the "golden path" and failed. It's extremely important, I think, to reach for a new mind set; one that looks forward and leaves what's done behind. It think it is worth thinking about go...

babypurr - On What I've Learned

Excellent reflections, so well said. Thanks for sharing. I've been using the no s diet for one month now and have not lost any weight. I realize that I'm having many of the same experiences that you mention in your post. It's encouraging to hear that others have had these same things happen and came...

Think Small...

A small plate with small portions of REALLY good food equals SATISFACTION and a lower weight...I hope!

I've been thinking a bit big I think. Today, I'll refocus to a smaller scale. Would anyone else try it too? :?:

Monday Morning at NCSunshine's House

It's back to reality after a topsy-turvy couple of S-Days! Unfortunately I began rolling them in with an evening at a Japanese Restaurant where it was impossible to "Plate." Not only would it have insulted the chef, it couldn't be done without being handcuffed because the aroma grabbed every taste b...

Based on what others have reported I think that it will. I'm having the same problem. My days off are by far too-o-o far off! I'm going to bear with however, and try to focus on "mostly" one platers with a few exceptions today and see what happens.

Re. skipped water aerobics...we all have heard "Haste makes waste," so sounds like a wise choice to do what you need to do for yourself when time is limited. Feel GOOD about it and continue doing things that are in YOUR FAVOR.

Go for success!!!!

Thanks for your encouragement. Lets both try for No Snacks Today and see how we do. I'll remember this if I'm tempted. I think we'll both make it!

Good Luck

To Liz

Liz, I'm new at this so have no idea where this message will wind up, but I can identify with your being able to follow diets for a llimited time then it all goes south! That's pretty much to story of my life as well. One of the things I've noticed about this diet that makes it different however is ...

NCSunshine Check-In

I'm posting a morning check-in instead of evening since I'm feeling a bit shaky this morning. I have a busy afternoon and evening with little time for a proper dinner. My plan is to have a sandwich between appointments and NO SNACKING. Hopefully this commitment will keep me honest!

Daily Check-In

I'm three weeks into the No-S-Diet and although I have lost only 1/2 lb., I'm pleased with the way I feel. I'm especially pleased that I have not snacked between meals except on "S" days. Hopefully I'll be able to continue these habits and the weight will drop.

Proud Moments

I commend your idea of celebrating the good things we accomplish no matter how big or how small. It's a given that when we feel good about ourselves we will achieve much much more than when we feel badly about our behavior. I approached the upcoming S days with worry that I would eat everything in s...

It's Thursday-The first S-Day is near

I've "one-plated" for 2 weeks and love the sense of freedom it brings. The S-Days however have been another story...when sweets and snacks become ok, they've become the 'rule of the day' and I've undone any weight loss I had achieved. I'm trying to get a strategy in mind for the weekend. Any suggest...

I have the same questions about soup and salads as woods38 described. How do you handle meals in restaurnats where salad is served separately? I'm new to these discussion boards and have no idea how to respond to a posting or to know if someone has responded to mine. Any guidance would be appreciated

This is my first time ever participating in a blog. Would like input on others experiences with the diet and a...
