sherlock, I go on the basis that I can't fail at anything on vacation, so the worst I can get is a yellow (for No S, exercise or glass ceiling). I can, however, limit the wall of yellows by trying to get greens throughout - so if I do some extra exercise (like going for a long walk or managing some ...

I had a knee injury and on my habitcal exercise tracker I marked it as yellow for a week, and then after that I tried to do *some* exercise, just not leg related (so upper body, or going out for a gentle walk that wouldn't put too much pressure) and even if it wasn't for my full time marked it green...

Afternoon, about 2ish for me. I have the advantage that I am a SAHM and can be more flexible about times. 2pm is great because it picks me up and stops me having that afternoon slump around 3ish that I get otherwise. I also use it a bit as a reward for having done all my other chores before I pick t...

But I am told, it also works to leave the water in a jug in your fridge for 24 hours. It apparently "evaporates" out of the water. Disturbing. Someone I know who keeps fish told me this, although they have since switched to using a neutralizing product for all the other crap that's apparently in ta...

I'd add the second sugar, then gradually reduce it over a period of time if it bothers you. I currently drink 3 (yes THREE  ) sugars in my tea (no milk, as if that excuses it). I don't drink masses amount of tea and I still remind myself that it's better than drinking cans of coke or something...

Have to add a "me too" about energy and mood. I hurt my ankle and knee a couple of weeks ago and took 5 days off exercise and a couple of weeks of only very light exercise and my mood plummeted . I felt really low and lethargic, it was horrible. Started exercising normally again this week and alread...

Oops, didn't realise that this thread was here!

28 days yesterday - all yellows or greens :) Problem is now to not get too complacent and allow bad habits to creep back in (I've always been fairly good short term at anything I decide to do - it's long term that I have issues with!)

Great podcast, Reinhard, I enjoyed it!

I'm vanilla No-S-ing (and lost 4lb this month, YAY!) but will probably listen to all the mod suggestions next time just out of curiosity

Totally agree about tasting food properly now. Just realised this morning that I was channelling any hunger feelings into planning the next meal and really looking *forward* to that meal. (Lunch today is going to be soft boiled eggs, marmite soldiers and a banana, by the way :) ) Best of all, I'm en...

I take three teaspoons of sugar in my black tea  It's not something I particularly want to change. I have tried before and then just ended up hating tea, which seemed a shame. I do try and limit my tea intake to 2-3 cups a day, though, which I think is fair compromise. I was quite relieved wit...

The Simple Pleasures of No S

When i started this, 3 weeks ago, I thought it would be chocolate and cake my weekend craving, and I have to confess that the Terry's chocolate orange left over from Easter that's waiting for me in the fridge for after the kids are in bed does bring a smile to my face. However, there's one weekend p...

Regarding the blood type diet, my understanding of it was that the science was not sound so I wouldn't worry too much if that breakfast is something you enjoy (sounds quite tasty to me actually!) http://skepdic.com/bloodtypediet.html is a little brusque in places, but has a good explanation of why t...

This is something I struggle with too, massively. I'm on about week 3 now, and I've found that I've just started to feel hungry in the mornings at breakfast time - I had a massive evening snacking problem before, so I'm sure that was a major part of the problem. Mondays I still feel I'm force feedin...

Thanks! Lots of food for thought in those threads and looking forward to seeing your polished system when you launch it. Thank you all. I went for a couple of pieces of fruit, as I had eaten some of the terrible meal, marked it as green and written it off to a learning experience! I was pretty hungry this morning and had a bigger breakfast, but not excessively so. Reinhard: I see what you're saying about 1 plate makin...

Thanks - daft I know, but I think I just needed someone to tell me it wasn't "cheating" and give me permission! Psychologically, I think I really need that first week of green days.

What do you do when you make a terrible meal?

Doesn't happen very often, but it would happen on the 2nd day of doing No S! I made a *terrible* meal this evening. New recipe, big disaster. Couldn't force myself to eat more than a few mouthfuls of it, nor could the kids. Obviously replaced the kids food with something else so they don't go to bed...

Jeanne - is it worth hunting around for some cardio exercise that you can do safely? Are you able to swim and do you have a pool near you? That might help with the cardio exercise without hurting your knees.
