Trying again today
I took Friday off last week. I twinged something in my shoulder (I think). It just felt a little off on Friday, so I didn't do SG. I had started about a week ago and on Thursday, I went pretty intense and unfortunately, I did not hear my timer go off, so I am not sure how long I actually did it. I d...

I really like the 14 minute idea. I'll be sticking with that. However, I am fortunate enough to have a olympic style free weight system in my basement. So, this is the planned workout for the foreseeable future (subject to change on my whim, of course). MWF-Shovelglove (I have a 12# hammer) I plan t...

Reinhard's idea of the antibookmark is really interesting as I spend entirely too much time online. I have now started using LeechBlock, which is a Firefox add on. I tried NoS for a little over a week about a year ago. I was doing it to write a series of blog posts about it. I have now been back doing it, in earnest, for about 3 weeks. So far so good. I have had 1 red day and even then, I didn't throw in the towel. I wanted to point out, though, that in the pa...

I have a dry-erase board in my kitchen. On the board each day, I add a number if I have been successful. So, if I have been successful 5 days in a row, I write 5, and just keep adding until I stumble. In the other corner, I also have a place for my personal record, which gives me something to shoot ...

Huge Plates
I just went to a restaurant for lunch and the plate of food they brought me was probably large enough to feed most of my family. I stopped about 1/3 of the way through. Just because you can eat 1 plate of food for each meal, doesn't mean you need to.

My first two weeks on NoS, I lost quite a bit of weight, though the last two weeks I have gained about 1.5 pounds. Re: Thoughts for our Moderator or anyone who has input
Think about it, growing up - I think most of us (or else I just lived a very deprived existence) ate basically the same breakfast each day, maybe varying a bit on the weekends but we didn't have dozens of options each day. And lunch was basically a sandwich and a piece of fruit or the school menu. ...

10 commandments of weight loss
I came up with these thoughts the other day that have been useful in my weight loss journey. Call them suggestions if you prefer. 1. Thou shalt eat actual meals -Society has been handed a bill of goods that we need to eat regularly throughout the day. If we actually ate fewer calories at meals, this...

Does the size of a person affect the results?
I am 6'4" and currently weigh about 245, though I weighed about 370 at my highest. My basal metabolic rate, the number of calories I need without ever moving, is much higher than a woman who is 4'11" and weighs 120 pounds. If I eat 3 normal plates everyday, it doesn't really matter what I put on the...

Thanks for posting this! We aren't big oatmeal fans (as cereal, anyway), but this sounds both tasty and nutritious. Hopefully, the family will agree![/quote] I have rarely met anyone who doesn't like this--including non-oatmeal people (which I used to be). This is now my most comforting food.
