Spleener's back

You probably didn't miss me--I wasn't a huge poster--but I knew I was gone. I found the No S Diet back in June and had some really solid success with it for about six weeks. Eventually I saw Intuitive Eating as the next shiny new diety thing (or the next stop on my evolutionary path toward becoming ...

I'll join the "I hate food diaries" club. That's one aspect of No S that has been genuinely freeing. Whether I was counting carbs or calories, I had to account for every single thing I ate. If I ate out I needed to either visit the restaurant's website for the calorie info or try to estimate the dam...

I've had a lot of success with the habit-based approach Reinhard mentioned, and that's a major theme in the book. It's hard not to be focused on some particular goal--such as 21-day compliance or a certain amount of weight lost--but that's the thinking that got us into this collective mess to begin ...

I'm happy to say I hit 21 days and have kept going. This is day, er, 25. It's been amazing to me how quickly this has become such an ingrained habit that I don't think about it anymore. I'm rarely hungry in between meals, and when I am, a glass of whole milk completely satisfies me. I have $150 wort...

If I've got things that don't go well together, I'll plate them (if possible) and then offload some of the food to a smaller plate. Virtual plating works fine too; for me at least, the key is not to fudge on the portions. I try to estimate conservatively if I need to guess.
