Rebecca, I am a terrible insomniac, too. I generally get to sleep without any problem, but I wake up after a few hours and am pacing for a few hours in the middle of the night. I would love to hear more about how you eat and how it has helped you sleep better. Can you give a set of menus for a typic...

I have the opposite problem, that is, I get full very easily. (No, it hasn't stopped me from eating past fullness  In a way, fullness is hardly a significant factor in whether or not I eat at this point in my life   ), What Ive found', though, in these first few weeks of No S, is t...

Actually, I'm going to take the granularity down even further. Since between meal snacking is really the problem, I'm going to record my sucesses three times a day, between breakfast and lunch, between lunch and dinner, and after dinner. First up is to get 21 of these little green ticks down before ...

Lfee, I like how you consider this way of eating as a "life change" rather than a diet. And what you said about stress, how it is omni-present, really makes a lot of sense. I also suffer from chronic stress, but I do secumb to the mindset of, "when the going gets tough, I deserve a little comfort (f...

Weakly Habit Cal
Pun intended! I have had quite a few failures in the past week, and I hate the way my habit cal looks. It's so depressing to see all the red that I'm less motivated rather than more. So I've decided that until I get the hang of this I'm going to do weekly habit cals and hang them on my fridge. If I ...

Three kinds of Failures
I've been no-Sing, or trying to, for about two weeks now. So far I've had some good days, but I've also had a lot of failures. What I've noticed is that there are three and a half main kinds: 1) Thoughtless errors: taking a bit of something while making dinner or taking seconds by accident, because ...

I can't believe that giving up bread and starches could possibly be healthy. And it's certainly not healthy for the environment to eat a lot of meat... but that said, I did have some sucess with the Zone Diet years ago. I found that it was pretty healthy if you follow the advice of choosing the best...

Thaks KCCC! The problem is that I don't exercise in any consistent way. On any given day I might take a 3 hour bike ride or I may just stay home and read. Is it a good idea to have a mini meal only when I exercise? That seems open to all sorts of rationalizations... say if I only biked for an hour, ...

Thanks, Bushranger! Acutally, it's not dinner that I'm worried about (besides the fact that it tends to be in 3 courses) (I figure I'll have the appitiser and a smallish serving of the main course and say no to the desert.) But my in-laws are Dutch and that means that both breakfast and lunch consis...

Question about Exercise and Snacking
Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I'm curious what people out there do about getting hungry after exercise. Today I had breakfast at 7 and lunch at 12, which, in my 3 days of no s has worked pretty well for me because I tend to be hungriest in the morning. But today I went on a two a...

I was pretty excited when I stumbled on this website. No S sounds so sane! So far I've been successful for 1.5 days, which has really surprised me since I am a snackaholic and haven't gone more than 6 hours without a snack in years  . One thing I'm worried about... This week I'm at home on vac...
