Re: The Daily Dandelion

So, the start of my 100 days got postponed a bit. A number of things happened - some good, like spring break travels - others not so good. Nothing major - I just feel 'down' a lot lately. Hopefully some sunshine and warm weather will help, but if not I may discuss it with my doctor this summer. Anyw...

Green Day

It was a bit hairy at times. I very nealy gave in when I got home - doing that 'negotiating' thing. Then a strong internal voice said 'I"m not going to eat'. And I knew I wasn't going to.

I like that voice. I hope to hear from it often in the coming days.

Thanks for the support!

I don't like the overfull feeling - but we are all so chronically sleep deprived, I kinda like those weekend days when we fill up on foods we like and doze off in the sunshine for a nap.

Belated congratulations, too!

Your comment about 'icky sweet' jumped out at me. I really think having the freedom to eat anything leads to being more particular about what we eat. So that so often things we used to love - and maybe eat to excess are suddenly not so appealing. It's like are free to realize what they are truly lik...

No success on the boots...this time. However, I did find three pair of shoes I liked with various heel heights. It feels a bit uncomfortable spending money on myself, but I will just have to get over it  We had crepes for breakfast this morning and I'll be making one of my favorite soups for d...

Well, I'm back at home and happy to be warm - not to mention breathing easier, too! I"ve been reading all your comments and as usual, you are all so on target. I started a pile (yup, right before I left the house for several days) of 'clothes to reconsider'. Some things don't fit, although some do b...

Thank you all for your support. It means a lot. I'm in a bit of a pit of self loathing right now. I am trying to pack for a trip. It's cold where I'm going. I'm leaving my 80s and heading into the 20s and 30s. Maybe 40s if we're lucky. So I pull out my winter clothes. Or at least what I think are my...

Just so you know - I might very well have done the same thing (weaseled out of the meeting the friend thing). I know this, because I have done it. More than once. I also find it perplexing that I find it so easy to 'judge' (for lack of a better word) others by their character, personality, integrity...

I've read eat for heat - I'm much more aware of how food and drink affect my temperature. I notice the water guzzling, yogurt and granola bar for lunch eaters are always freezing. I'm talking wearing a fleece jacket with it's in the 80s cold. I usually have dinner leftovers - and someone commented o...

I may not be eating the way I'd like to, but I am happy that I have been a bit more active. 'A bit' is all I am trying right now. A consistent bit that may eventually grow into a bit more. But I'm not even thinking about that. Just working on this bit. It isn't much but it feels good to be doing som...

Kind of an emotional day... Feeling super down about my weight and wanting to do something extreme but realize that can't last very long. I haven't been here in a couple of weeks. It actually seems like longer. I feel like I've been drifting. Not doing much of anything definite. Not NoS. Not anything else. Speaking of France - a friend (who, btw, has never heard of Nos) has recently moved to France. She mentioned there are signs everywhere cautioning people to avoid snacking - proclaiming that it is unhealthy and causes weight gain.

Interesting, no?

Yes, it was :) However from the attention my family paid to it, you'd never have guessed. Our friends who were to meet us at dinner never made it. Not exactly a crashing success this year. Zucchini is usually easier than a houseplant. People usually have to beat it back and can't use/give away the zucchini fast enough.

Scones are easy. Mix 'em with fingers, pat the dough out, cut and bake :)

My weight is still coming down, but it has slowed. I'm okay with that. Between age and hypothyroidism, and after years of no loss, any loss is cause for celebration.
