New Year New Month

Well, I started the new year ok for like three days and then went out of town for a week and totally forgot to even try to count. But the good news is while I was there I went shopping and bought a weekly planner. There's plenty of room in there to jot down my 3 Ss checklist each day. That wasn't th...

2010

Well, you can see where November fizzled out and then I didn't even try through December. Got sick with a cold, crazy schedule, yeah, yeah, excuses. But it's a new year and new decade and time to start fresh. Oh, that is nonsense. More like the dead of winter is over, days are getting lighter and I ...

Ugh

Not doing so great lately. I've been failing most days lately to keep track even on days when I may have done no-s just fine. It's really time to shore up because the holidays are coming along. Baking lots of cookies and treats doesn't help! I'll do the best I can through December. Then with my 2010...

BREAKFAST & LUNCH

Breakfast and lunch. Breakfast and lunch. If only I get those right I don't feel like snacking before or after dinner or going for seconds.

It's funny how I really have to make a point to eat MORE in order to ultimately eat less.

fall/winter holidays

Ok, I can see that upcoming seasonal eating is going to kick my butt (or add to my butt, more likely). Been nibbling on chocolate and nuts lately (candied nuts). I really do enjoy baking and making treats this time of year. But maybe I have to give that up unless I can make a strong determination to...

Disapproved

I find the phrase "that food is pre-disapproved" works well. You are not making a decision, it's just not allowed. I can't remember who I picked that phrase up from, but it's a good one. Being a bit hungry or feeling deprived of something yummy is not an emergency. When you feel a little hungry you ...

Call me a blasphemer but I don't believe in S-days and I don't do them. Prior to starting the no-s diet, 90% of my excess weight/calories was coming from snacking on weekends, so having weekends as s-days would be no improvement on my habits. Instead of having s-days, I treat every day as a no-s day...

Hovering

Still hovering around 141, but not yet cracked the 140s barrier down to the 130s. Been having lots of small breakfast/lunch and big dinner days. Need more exercise. Wish there were some easy No-s way to include exercise as well. Need to think about that one. Have to say I'm not horribly motivated to...

Never done S-days

I've never done S-days. Mostly because it's perma-snacking on weekends that was getting me in the most trouble in the first place. So I allow myself one single S per day. And by single S, I mean a single measured portion (counted, weighed or measured). Usually I go for chocolate in the evening, or s...

Almost a month

It's been almost a month since I've started trying No-S. Have lost a couple pounds, which is great. Think I need to transition into more of a pass/fail system, like most people do for no-s. But I'll wait until next month, perhaps there will be a challenge and that will give me any easy place to log ...

You've gotten lots of good tips here already. I'll try to not be redundant. But I really do second the notion of fiber and whole grains. A yogurt for breakfast is just not enough. That's like what, 200 calories? Even on a weight loss diet, 400-500 calories is what you need for a meal. I am not a mor...

A couple more days

Maybe this tracking is getting boring for me! But it does keep me aware of what I'm doing. So keep at it! Weight's been under 145 more consistently: 142-143 today in the middle of the day. Eek, today's Thursday, and I'm not sure if I can account for Tuesday. Let's see Tuesday: breakfast (minimal, should have had more); lunch was salad & crackers; dinner pizza. Funky Tuesday

Not sure if I would count today as success or failure: Missed/skipped breakfast. Hi all. I am new to the no-S, and already have some mods. Actually decided on them before I embarked up on it. So far so good. 1) Weekends are NOT special days. Missing versus Skipping breakfast

I'm very new to this forum, so please excuse me if this was discussed previously. My question is this: What do you tend to do if you miss breakfast? I don't mean skip it but sleep through it altogether. Do you still do three meals? Like lunch, dinner1, dinner2. Or just lunch and dinner, and too bad ...

Sunday: Did ok, had lunch, dinner1 and dinner2. Actually had dinner then seconds on dinner (3 taquitos). I did not skip breakfast, but slept right through it. Melba's Daily Check-In

Well, here's the deal. A few years ago I used a non-sustainable method to lose 30 pounds (detailed calorie counting). Almost half of those pounds have crept back on, and they need to go. I don't regret using calorie counting to jump start my weight loss, that is to loss a bunch in a relatively short...
