Yes, it's two days after that; I'm back on the original transcription site (but being a lot more careful so as not to get rejections again!) plus found a couple of other places to work.

And even though today is another cloudy day, I'm feeling a lot less "SAD"!

Depressed but did not binge!

Last night, as well as most of today, I was depressed because I had had several files rejected at a site where I do online transcription. This brought my rejection rate up to the point where I am now blocked from doing proofreading and reviews, which paid the most money. So I was depressed about tha...

This may sound very old-fashioned, but... why keep any snacks at all at home ? Just don't buy them ! Sorry I didn't see this earlier to respond to it. I have two answers for you: first, not everyone in your home may be on board with your "No S" plan, so they are bound to want to keep their snacks a...

What if you are just physically not feeling well and don't want to eat a lot? For example, this morning: I'm recuperating from some emotional stress (family melodrama!) and woke up with a sore back (very obviously stress-related). I did go out and do my 14 minutes of exercise - a little shovelglove ...

The Would-Be Drum Majorette Move

OK, here's a move I came up with, because I was watching the classic movie musical "The Music Man" the other day: I hoist my (admittedly very lightweight) shovelglove into the air, and march around the back yard, pretending it's a baton and I'm the beautiful blonde ponytailed drum majorette, leading...

I know this is an old thread but I just found it, and wanted to say thanks! As you know from my other posts, I've just started doing Shovelglove workouts again after several years and really enjoying them. However, I also really need to do very basic balancing and stepping up and down type exercises...

Thank you, Whosonfirst and oolala53 ! oolala53 , oh yes, I am sure I ate more too. But ate in a non-No S fashion. In other words, snacking way more than I should have. Not that most my snacks were "unhealthy" per se - my favorite snacks were freshly popped (not bagged!) popcorn with a little grated ...

Embarrassed, need some motivation

Hey everyone - I've posted a couple of times since I rejoined the board, and I know I sounded really gung-ho and like I knew what I was doing, but ... here it is early in the morning* and I'm finding I need some encouragement and help motivating myself, so here goes: I'm really having trouble making...

I enjoy reading and also watching some tv. I used to always have a snack when doing these activities. It was difficult at first to give up the snacks, but now, and for years, I only have hot tea, summer or winter. I come to enjoy settling down with it when I read or watch, just as much as the snack...

Hey everyone - Well, I'm back and have done the SG workout three days in a row, with some modifications. Of course reading is a treat in itself - no denying that. But there's also no denying that on a cold winter's day, it is absolutely heavenly to snuggle down under a warm comforter with a good book and a hot mug of cocoa bursting with marshmallows - is there? Of course, that's probably what the "S" d...

Thanks!

I think the reason it needs to be coffee or tea, instead of water, for me (hey, that rhymes!) is that it needs to be some kind of "treat" - something I can consume slowly while reading.

It just feels *weird* to me to read a book and not have something to sip/munch on - ya know?

Anyone else have trouble not snacking while reading?

Hey everyone - I've been away for a while (since 2013, according to the list of my posts!) and am going to give the No S Diet another try. Does "sampling" count as "snacking"?

Hi! I was putting together our supper tonight and as usual when I'm cooking, I absent-mindedly sampled some of the ingredients - primarily the sharp cheddar cheese I was grating for the casserole! But then I caught myself and realized - um - this isn't actually the meal yet - this is just PREPARING ...

Newbie in Weight Watchers, curious about this diet!

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie. I've been a member of WW for over a year and at one point had lost almost 50 pounds. Not to worry, I've had this problem before - started when I was in college (wayyyy back in the 70's*), and yes I have seen a doctor about it - not every time it happens, though. See, it's a recurring, lifelong, chronic knee ailment, primarily caused by osteoarthritis. Which is why I love to walk for...
