arrrrgh

OnTime is not happening and I really REALLY need to fix that. Right now it's feeling like my need to set up compliance with No-S (make and eat substantial breakfast, plan and take lunch and tea) is making the rest of the morning lag just that little bit too much. Maybe it'll improve as No-S becomes ...

Thanks! :)

Power-up and Power-down are contributing a lot to making No-S possible (otherwise there is not breakfast or it's a grab-and-go that feels too much like an early morning snack).

LC's thread for check-in and observations

So I wrote a whole thing and for some reason it didn't post. Oh well. I am tracking four habits right now: No-s: I am doing a four-meal version (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner) that lines up well with my kids' schedules. It's going very well so far, no red days, and I think I'm eating less ...

Thanks! Our lives are kind of crazy-making though in a different way from last time I was here. I'm not juggling work + grad school anymore, and my kids are bigger (they are 12 and 9 now, I think SecondKid was a baby last time I was here). They are both fairly serious dancers - FirstKid went en poin...

I had an oddly specific reason for leaving/quitting - I couldn't figure out a mod to work around a compliance problem I was having. Long story short, I was prescribed an "as needed" pain medication that would cause the most miserable heartburn ever if not taken with food. Sometimes I would realize I...

My borderline-foods list

I tried to set out as many of these as possible in the beginning, but things come up that I forgot about, so this is always a work in progress. Allowed on S-days: - Any cereal allowed in the house when I was a child (plain or honey nut Cheerios, plain crisp rice, Life, raisin bran, etc. - also inclu...

When I was growing up, tradition was that Christmas Eve dinner was meatless. To my parents, this usually meant a "special" macaroni and cheese recipe containing four different types of cheese that was only made on Christmas Eve. But just about any vegetarian or seafood-based dish would fit. I know a...

Hey, it works swell!

(Can't tell we've watched Lady and the Tramp recently, can you?) Thanks for the welcome and well-wishes! So I was a little worried that my first weekend would be all-binge-all-the-time. Nope! I kept the basic structure (except on Sunday, when every meal happened later than usual) of breakfast-lunch-...

Because I'm as big as I am, one of the things I needed to look for was a scale with a wider base - standing on a standard scale tends to make the number jump around all over the place. I can't remember the company, but it's a digital-and-glass scale. The best advice I've heard is to get a digital sc...

When I was following a diet plan for gestational diabetes, I came up with what we nicknamed the "breakfast of champions" - two scrambled eggs and a hot chocolate (8 oz milk with a tablespoon of cocoa, two teaspoons of sugar, and a dash of vanilla) - my post-meal numbers were so low I ended up adding...

Another newbie - made it through the first 5 N-days!

Hello everyone! I have had my first set of weekdays of green, and am very pleased with how this is going, since it has not been without its challenging moments (dinner with friends for which my husband made a favorite dessert, the monthly "breakfast day" at work, etc.) but every challenge leaves me ...
