I am still here, but I'm here with my tail between my knees. :( I had an enormously stressful week last week planning and then pulling off a fundraiser at a conference, and the stress got the better of my eating habits. Sigh. (If only we could live in a bubble, right?) I came to the conclusion that ...

Woohoo, mrsj!!! Congratulations!! Are you starting your next 21 days in this thread? Starting a new thread? Joining Renee's February Challenge? I'm sure I'll be bringing up the rear here (but that's okay!), but I want to follow the crowd wherever they head to next, lol. I don't want to be a party of...

Re: Ditto

GEEEZ!!! You just posted my complaint. I'm on my second week and gained all the 2lbs I lost on the 1st week. I only had one slip up on Monday cause I had to go to a monthly meeting from4:30 till 9:00 and snacked when I got home cause I only had a bowl of soup at 4:00 and was really hungry. I'm doin...

Ragdoll, I always say it's the inches that matter, not the number on the scale. None of us walks around with the scale readout taped to our chest, trying to impress strangers (well, I hope not, anyhow  ). What matters is how you look , and how your clothes fit, and losing inches is what it's r...

mrsj and jammin' - thanks so much for your encouragement. It means a lot, even though I haven't had much of a chance to get on the computer and say so this past week! I know about Urban Ranging, but at the moment I'm too much of a wimp to brave the cold, and all the icy, unshoveled sidewalks....

I feel like I've gotten off to a bit of a shaky start with No-S; mainly because I've been "eating intuitively" and trying No-S off and on for about a year now, and I'm anxious for stuff to start to stick, and the weight to come off. Add to that anxiety the fact that we are taking a big vacation that...

Laura, you are so sweet. Thanks for being so encouraging! My problem isn't so much being tempted by S treats on N days, as it is eating more than I need on those N days. But I am thinking that yeah, I need to relax, and for whatever reason, start all the way back at the beginning. If it fit in one v...

Hey, RJ, are you doing okay? I see your two "borderline success" days up there ... is there anything we can do to help you out? Laura Aww, thanks Laura - that's so sweet. Mainly it's just that I've been doing this long enough (even though I'm a newbie here, I've been doing No-S off and on for about...

Yesterday was a green day, although I'm really tired and can't remember at the moment what it was I ate. I wrote it down in a journal (a REAL journal, with pages and everything! How charmingly archaic!) though, so it's there and I'm not mentally fooling myself. I'm not sure what to think about today...

Well, my S days over the weekend were... interesting. I stayed within parameters, I did not go hog wild and eat my way through the days, but. I just didn't like the way I was feeling about it all. And I still didn't make the best choices. On Saturday, my boys threw some Tyson Chicken Strips in the o...

Tricia, we are "21-day wannabees", meaning, we are working on getting 21 consecutive successful days of No-S'ing, whether that be N-days or S-days.

At least, I think that's what we're doing.

To be able to eat these things No-S style, one really needs to take into account PORTION size. For the same amount of dough (muffin batter made with 2 cups flour), an old Joy of Cooking recipe lists 18-24 muffins per batch vs. a new Fine Cooking recipe which lists 10 muffins. This is very interesti...

Hi, Stylish Mama! I started this week, as well. I had good intentions of starting on Monday the 4th, but well, that mindless snacking habit kinda snuck up on me. So, Tuesday the 5th it was. I just wanted to say that I love how you have been giving yourself non-food treats - so fun! Are you just spri...

RJ's Daily Check-In

I'll make today my first daily check in on this thread, while noting that I started on Jan. 5, and have had success my first three days on the program. Today was also a success ! (I think...) Breakfast was coffee with cream and a green smoothie, the equivalent of 4 cups of spinach, 4 oz of strawberr...

thanks, mrsj! I'm in! (and just to make sure I'm on the straight and narrow, we *are* counting S-days toward the 21-day total, correct? I know this is an area that has been debated in the past. I'm happy to go either way, I just need to know what I'm aiming for...) Jan 5, Day 1: Success ! Jan 6, Day...

Newbie Introduction

Howdy! I've been happily lurking on this forum for awhile, and decided that it was time to come out of hiding and start to post. It's always so nerve-wracking posting for the first time on a new forum, and feeling like you are inserting yourself into an established community. But this one seems pret...
