Thank you, everyone for your kind and positive responses. I am looking at what I have done quite honestly and as some of you have already mentioned there are reasons for my gain. I have found 2 of them. 1) the obvious. Restaurant meals. I am aware of the "one plate" factor in the no seconds rule. Bu...

coming out as a failure

Its been a long time since I have posted or really even visited this board. I have just felt so dejected. Getting right to the point: in ten weeks of what I thought was successful No S living I have gained 10 pounds (at least). The long version: I started during Lent and gave myself 6 weeks of devel...

There is another thread about a HabitCal app for iphone/touch. And it sounds very, very much like Reinhard may be looking into it!!! It would be soooo cool, wouldn't it?

Welcome Kristen! I think it was Mimi who really said what I am feeling about this plan After 2 weeks, I would actually describe myself as feeling freer and lighter than I have in a long time. The way I am thinking about food is changing...really changing. I am happy and excited about what I am doing...

I'm here to rejuvenate this thread! I am a 2nd grade teacher and just finished my 2nd week of No Sing. I have avoided the staff lounge as much as possible the last few years. One of our teachers was an AWESOME baker. Her carrot cake was to die for and even the little teeny tiny young skinny teachers...

Thanks for the positive comments! I did feel success in the way I handled the food and really did save quite a bit. (Just finished it for a satisfying lunch!) I also did not end up blowing the rest of the day - which would have been a past reaction. But, I feel like I broke the one plate rule with t...

Red or Green?

Drat. Day 2 and I have put myself in a compromising position. Great breakfast and lunch. Went out to dinner. Ordered chicken strip dinner which came with a cup of soup and coleslaw on the side. Chicken and sweet potato fries on the plate. So I ate the soup and had a few bites of the slaw. Saved the ...

Cough drop! I like that idea! I know on the Biggest Loser they recommend a piece of sugarless gum, but I have TMJ problems and gum is out of the question! But a menthol cough drop might be a solution.

Thanks for sharing that.

Even if I don't lose a lot of weight, if I can get my eating under control and get over some of my food issues, I will consider it a success You hit the nail on the head for me! I couldn't have said it better! Today is my first day, also. I have done fine so far, although I am a bit hungry. Today w...

Accupressure

A good friend is doing this and I am trying to be supportive as she wants to lose a large amount of weight quickly in order to be an organ donor for a friend in need. BUT...2 little beads behind the ear, rotating every 2 hours, very limited eating....fruits/veggies one day and milk or something the ...

Thank you so much for your speedy replies!!! I definitely need to learn portion control and that is one thing that really strikes me about this program. I have been a life-time dieter, but have sort of given up the past 5 years. You see, in 2000 I started a medically supervised (liquid) weight loss ...

new and have questions

I haven't finished reading the book but have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find answered. 1. Each meal is one plate. What if a tossed salad or soup is part of the meal? Obviously you can't have soup on your plate. Or does this count as a multi course meal and then not on program? 2. Wha...
