Sounds like you're doing great Zip. It's getting easier for me too. For me the only hard part has been feeling anxious that I would get hungry between meals. But so far, it's been fine. In fact, it feels pretty good to get to the next meal and have a really sharp appetite. And then eat anything I wa...

Success! Got on the scale yesterday morning, end of my first week. I lost one pound! I am very pleased with this. All week, on my N days have been eating truly huge meals three times a day, and really have been eating whatever I wanted at each meal. And I ate everything I wanted on the S days too. A...

Success! I think I'd want to keep eating this way even if I didn't lose weight. I was telling a friend last night: it takes a away all the icky decisions (when should I eat and how much?) and lets you keep all the fun decisions (what should I eat?. I love not having to decide whether I'm hungry and ...

Welcome EMD

I am brand new to NoS (on day four) and really relate to what you said about 1) second guessing the program and 2) being scared about being hungry.

Hope this goes well for both of us!

Oy! I can see being nervous about the weekend. The way I understand it, the whole point of this plan is learning to TRUST that if you follow these few simple rules (that are actually enjoyable to follow) you'll be okay. It replaces so many of the old decisions ("what SHOULD I eat") with new decisons...

Second N Day. Did good. It's been so interesting. I was worried yesterday because I ate lunch at 2 and knew I wouldn't be having dinner until later: 8:30. I was worried I'd get really hungry and crabby. Normally I'd have planned two snacks to tide me over. But it was fine. A 5 pm cup of coffee helpe...

First N day went well. First, it was really fun to just plan to eat whatever I wanted as long as it wasn't a sweet. That included pizza and macaroni and cheese, foods I haven't enjoyed in months. I eat out a lot, and for breakfast and lunch I definitely ordered more food than I needed; I figure I am...

Thanks for saying hi yesterday MM. Its nice to be welcomed. It's interesting what you said about writing down what you eat. That's not something I'd normally do and I'm not sure I want to start. I want think about food less, not more. On the other hand I think its good to be aware of what you're doi...

Hi tofu! Thanks for introducing yourself yesterday. I know this process will be easier if I'm in touch with others who are doing the same thing. I was happy to read through your thread and see that you haven't gained weight since starting on No S. And it sounds like you're enjoying the process. Its ...

hola hola

Thanks for posting on my thread yesterday. It was nice to hear from some other newcomers on the site. I enjoyed reading through your check-ins, reading what you eat every day--it was helpful. I think I'm probably going to go through a similar process: focusing on forming the habits and needing to be...

Monday

Thanks for the welcomes, everybody. It's great to hear from other newsters that you're enjoying this diet. For me just KNOWING I can eat any food I like again makes me feel really happy. Yesterday was an S day of course but I did not go crazy. I had three good meals and did not want dessert after an...

How often should I weight myself?

I am just getting started on this. Any advice on how often I should weigh myself--I understand the loss will be slow, so I don't want to get discouraged. On the other hand, I feel like its important to sort of monitor the situation. Also, if you were going to weigh yourself, say, once a week, should...

Yesterday

Oh wow last night I went out to eat and ordered pasta with gargonzola cheese leeks bacon and tomatoes. I would never order that kind of thing normally but it was sooooo good and it was what I really wanted. For desert I had a decaf capuccino. I felt very happy and satisifed. Yesterday might have bee...

AnneK's check-in

I gained some weight recently (not sure why) and have been trying to lose that 15 pounds for the last six months. It won't budge! I eat very healthy--almost zero sweets, no sugar or flour, lots of fruits and veggies. I also run or lift weights every day. So I'm feeling very good and very healthy. Bu...
