I feel unsettled. I'm used to heavy-duty recrimination when I go "off" whatever diet I'm on. I know now that it doesn't help, so I'm not yelling at myself. I also question how much good it does to wonder why I fell off the wagon. So here I am in the present moment. Unsettled. I think you have the r...

Unless one of your mods is no sugar at all I'm not sure a bit of sugar in gravy would count as a fail (unless you'd routinely eat gravy as a dessert??)

The virtual plating might depending on the size of your plates

Today I have realized that the S days can be the same as the N, except by adding some sweet whim or some appetizer if there is hunger, and I love that and it is surprising for me :) I'm hoping my brain realises this sometime soon! :) I hit my 21 days on habit goal today, 93.8% compliance so far. Your food does look so delicious, Milliem! Ginger pudding sounds like something I'd like to try. :D Snacking was always my downfall on vanilla No S because it would turn into a graze session for me, but it looks like your snacks are discreet. Best of luck for a successful week. They are relatively ...

That link was really insightful - I lost a good amount of weight calorie counting, but I would 'fit in' a chocolate bar or other snack to my counts frequently, and never really built sustainable habits. Then when I got near my goal weight I just backslid and went back into the old habits of eating w...

I've accepted fairly crazy S days for now and I will until I feel that the N day habits are ingrained and making further efforts to limit or control foods won't result in a rebound of N day fails. How long that takes might be different for everyone - I think I will probably give it a month or so and...

Part of what I like about NoS is that it forces you to take a look at food you might have taken for granted and just eaten unthinkingly and ask yourself 'is it worth it?' On N days the question is 'is this snack/sweet/second worth having to mark a red day?' I suppose on S days the question is 'do I ...

Good advice jenji, if I'm offered a snack or a sweet during the week I try not to go into long complicated discussions about NoS and dieting, I just say 'no thanks I don't snack between meals' or 'I only eat dessert on the weekends'. It helps reinforce to myself what kind of habits I have for eating...
