My goals for 2012

It seems like everywhere I go, most people are talking about their health and fitness goals for the coming year. I decided to write mine in the blog:

http://ladieswhonos.blogspot.com/2012/0 ... -2012.html

There are a couple of other things I'm working on, but this is the NoS bit.

Actually, I've been hearing more and more lately about how the idea that we store fat when we sleep is wrong - that sleep is actually prime fat burning time. I've also have no problem with the morning hours, but find that noon - 6.30 pm stretch a long time. I've been hearing that more protein at bre...

Oatmeal isn't filling for me unless it has plenty of cream and butter in it. But as far as hunger goes, I go by my own knowledge of my own body. I know when it's just ordinary hunger that gnaws at my stomach for a few minutes and goes away and the feeling that tells me I must eat. I don't get it oft...

I'm with wosnes. I could fit my whole day's worth of food on one plate if I really wanted to. As long as it doesn't overfill the plate*, I just go by what fits in my stomach, rather than what fits on my plate. Today, btw - is taco day. Wonder who is having tacos...? I had chili for lunch and now for...

I do better if I don't eat - in other words, have a drink. I either have tea (with whole milk in it ) or occasionally, hot chocolate - which I make with whole milk, a teaspoon of cocoa and slightly less sugar. I figure it's probably less than many people would put on a bowl of cereal, and it's not a...

That's interesting. When I was dieting -which in my case was more like starving - I was always dreaming of eating. Something I wasn't allowing myself to do in waking hours.

I have noticed on nights I've eaten earlier - so gone to bed more hungry - I have really strange dreams.

I use this recipe for baked oatmeal http://sunandsalt.blogspot.com/2010/11/baked-oatmeal.html It includes an extra step to soak the oats overnight - which helps nutrition since oats are very high in anti-nutrients that soaking helps to neutralize. I also use the meal planning suggestion on this site.
