That sounds like a reasonable "mod" to me. I'm 5 months in, and while I love No S because I feel it's adjusted my relationship to food, I haven't lost enough weight to even mention. Most of this is due to a lack of restriction on S-days. I'm going to try your glass ceiling approach this weekend, and...

I like to drink a glass of buttermilk. For starters, you can't drink that much. It's also really filling, and because it's savoury and yet still has milk sugar, it seems to hit all the right tastebuds for me. Good luck! Maybe it's a hint to go to bed earlier

Prevention Magazine misses the obvious...

I was reading the January issue of Prevention, and there was a huge article called "Snack Food Nation" that lamented the high-calorie snack foods that have taken over our lives. It spoke of all of the evils of snacks, their accessibility, bad nutrition, caloric density, etc, etc. And then for the gr...

Re: How I did it ...

Pre No S I would have had really bad hungry days with PMS. Someone then recommended Evening Primrose Oil Supplements so I have a high strength one, a good multiple vitamin and mineral together with a normal strength Starflower oil capsule. I can honestly say I don't have PMS anymore, no monthly fac...

Sent mine to the second hand store on Tuesday!

And it does feel kind of strange, although I don't know why. I bought my scale at Ikea 7 years ago, and I picked it by putting 5 on the floor and choosing the one that weighed me the lightest! It has been lying to me by at least 5 pounds (I'm 5 pounds heavier on everyone else's scale), and my emotio...

Thanks for the reply, ladies

I loved the first reply, though I already have more than enough S days on my calendar - my husband is a pastor, so there's quite a few evening/social functions each month. I'm already averaging 4 N-days a week, so I need another coping mechanism for PMS. I did "cave" today, but nothing like before.....

PMS: How do you ladies keep from eating the whole planet?

I just went through a couple of days where I was ready to eat pretty much any snack and sweet, including (but not limited to) stale oreo cookies. My cousin, who is my NoS buddy, is always lacking hope when PMS comes around too. My only strategies are to: a) try to distract myself, which is tough bec...
