I came upon a bowl full of candy corn yesterday at work and in my head, I admit, I yelled "ooh! candy corn!" but I didn't say it out loud and I didn't eat any. I think I was more in love with the mere idea of candy corn than the actual eating of it.

I would think that if I was going to have other things to eat and put the soup on a plate, I would use a smaller "cup" size of soup. If I want to eat a big old bowl of soup/chili, I'd call that a meal.

Are you new to no s? If so, I would NOT count it as an S. Pancakes for breakfast is breakfast. You are on the right track if it fit on one plate and you sat down to eat it and didn't have seconds.

Once the habit is established, then maybe make the decision to move pancakes to the weekend.

I would consider it an S event. I'd definitely eat the cookies. I'd opt for water (regardless of no s, always water). But I wouldn't use giving blood as an excuse for eating a pint of ben and jerry's after dinner.

I don't consciously make a distinction between the two, but I do keep a calendar in my kitchen and I get a sticker for no s days and a big "SDAY" in marker for my sdays. on s days, I write down what my treats are, so it might say Sday 3 bowls of ice cream and 6 cookies (eek!) or it might say s day 1...

I also found it by goodling "no sugar" while looking for a diet book that I could not remember the title. That was in September 2004, when the site was just the main page manifesto minus all the red "NEW"'s. It made me laugh and it was a real aha! moment for me. By christmas, I was down 15 pounds!
