Just chiming in to say that LaurenExists, you have a lot of the same concerns that I do, after having only done this for about two weeks. Good on you for sticking it out for 10 weeks so far! Thanks to all the folks who replied, it's helping me, and hopefully lots of other people, as well!

Dee2013, I'm in the same spot as you. Older and taller, but still feeling sooo tired of being like this and tired of yo-yo-ing and tired of obsessing. But really hating myself for lack of discipline. I hope you're not doing that! Please, if you're going to do this, keep posting here with your status...

Wow, I need to read that whole article, thanks for bringing it up. That's kind of like how I feel. And I feel just as awful at 20 lbs. overweight as I did 65 lbs. overweight. Whew, it's kind of scary to think about!

For between meal hunger you could try adjusting your meals to make them more satisfying, e.g. add good fats like avocado, nuts, olive oil. Also, a milky tea or coffee can tide you over for another hour or so. I'm going to suggest that you add some fat to your meals. Fat aids substantially in satiet...

Well -- this time I had not been starving myself within the past several months, and was gaining gradually and found myself 20 lbs. up from the weight I'd maintained for the past few years (in the wrong way, I might add). However, yep, I'm sure my body is well used to thinking I'm starving it. You'r...

Hi, Thanks to you both for your words of encouragement, I really appreciate it! So after 10 days of complying 100%, I weighed in yesterday and found that I actually gained about 1 1/2 lbs. Gosh, I really didn't need to see that. I really have not been loading up my plates, either, like folks say mig...

Thoughts that I just have to write to understand

Hey y'all, this is just a bunch of rambling stuff that a week of No S has popped into my consciousness. I don't care if you don't read it, I've just gotta understand it by typing it. I've read several posts here, and one of them mentioned a "Zen" thing about looking at a mountain, then looking at it...

wosnes: If I just have a bowl of oatmeal (or anything else), I just have the bowl. If I'm having oatmeal, toast and fruit, the bowl goes on a plate along with the toast and fruit.

OK. I was wondering about a soup & sandwich lunch; guess that would be the same?

I've found something interesting that's happening to me, already. I started No S on Wednesday the 5th, and I'm finding, after having one S weekend under my (large) belt so far, that already the desire to eat all kinds of crap all weekend doesn't seem so desirable. In fact, even on Saturday when we w...

Thanks for this brilliant observation. I've thought about No S for a long time and have finally decided to take the plunge. So this was the perfect time for me to read this. Hi, I've started No S yesterday after a very long time dithering around with "what diet to go on!" I lost 65 lbs. years ago with Medifast, but have had a very stressful year, and gained 20 lbs. back. Well -- the only place I can do it normally is in the "den" in the basement which is taken up by the giant box holding the bathroom countertop, amidst piles of tools, insulation, table saw, wood, etc. So before the bathroom fiasco, I had plenty of room to do it there. Outside the back door-- technic...
