Need a garden rule or mod?

If you look at my calendar this month on the July challenge ( I meant this to be part of that thread, not a new one), you will see that I marked today as a failure but I am not unhappy or bummed out about it. In fact, I think it's funny. You see, after breakfast I decided to go ahead and water my ga...

Today is the 21st!

Hi all,
For those of us who started this challenge on July 1st, today is the 21st day. So far, I have made it through with no red days--despite a few temptations. Not everyone has been posting regularly, so I am wondering how many of you have also achieved the 21 day habit level.

When Sat starts

Waiting up until midnight to start your S day is not illegal as long as you consistently define your days this way. For example if Sat starts at midnight, then Sunday and Monday also starts at midnight, so there are not extra hours added on to one day. IMHO, you need to be clear on when a day starts...

Limited willpower is normal

Good luck :) I have trouble hiding that I'm on a diet when I'm on one. I actually don't have the skill to sensibly refuse forbidden foods (sweets in the case of NoS). Go for it, and if you could share your secret agent refusal tricks with us, this could help ! I was listening to a book today and wh...

This week is the toughest

Hi Guys, I hope everyone is doing well in everything. As you know from my original post this is my first month back on No S after being away for two years. As I figures the mid-week holiday made July a great time to restart No S and I got with my second week even though Thursday was my day off work....

Why not fruit juice?

If you are concerned about too much caffeine, then why not try fruit juice. 100% fruit juice is allowed on no s and it tastes sweet. You wouldn't want to drink it all day but once in the afternoon could be the lift you need.

Infomercials are insane

I am wasting Sunday morning surfing the Internet and watching infomercials. Insanity was followed by tummy tuck--apparently a waist band that can magically melt fat without diet or exercise (yeah, right). Anyway, I think it is funny that a no exercise gadget follows the ad for an extreme exercise pr...

Hip to waist ratio

Thanks for, that link. BTW, Imwas not surprised about the South Pacific Islanders. In their case it is a combination of genetics and modern foods. It is my understanding that they weighed more than Europeans at time of discovery (look at Gaugain's paintings). However there has been experiments with t...

More than 3 meals a day

If your doctor didn't tell you why you need to eat 4 to 6 meals a day, then maybe you need to ask. If your doctor was just repeating the current dieting dogma, then I like the idea of calling an afternoon glass of milk (or other unsweetened beverage) a snack. It's no s and your doctor would probably...

No S is best really

Hello, Paula. I started seriously at the end of December in 2009, so I just missed you. Welcome back. I'm glad for you that you haven't returned having gained weight, as many have, but that you also believe there is value in the habits. How much weight have you lost all together? I'm glad to hear y...

Sweet rules

I was re- reading the book today and the definition of a sweet given in the beginning of the book is "something whose principal source of calories is sugar. . ." So it depends on the added sugar--if you want to be definite, then you could subtract the calories in non-sweetened liquor from the calori...

July is a good month to start

Hi Guys, I'm back! I was on this board for a couple of years between 2008 and 2010. I was very successful in building the no s habits but my weight loss slowed and I stopped losing weight. So, with my company's yearly weight loss contest arriving in January of 2011, I stopped no S and tried a new di...

Always log off

This isn't just for Amazon, it is for all sites. As a security measure, you should always log out of any site that requires a password to get in. Closing the web browser is extra security after you log out not in place of logging out. If not logging out is a common practice, then thanks for posting ...
