Re: KCCC's 2019 Holiday Check In

Gradually getting back into the swing of things. Thursday I forgot and had a store sample, but I didn't "wreck the car" after. Technically a red, but I count it a win. Friday evening is S for me (and Saturday is an N), because it fits better with my life. I stayed green until the evening get-together.

How topical - I came back especially for the holiday season! Last year, I went overboard and had to actually work on losing rather than maintaining once the New Year came... Did NOT like that. My habits do get a little sloppy over the course of the year, and when in the normal course of things, it's...

Re: Does the obesssion with food go away with Nos?

I did find that I gained a lot of mental bandwidth from not snacking, not debating internally whether I should/shouldn’t eat, and far less beating myself up for food choices I regretted. There’s a good bit of research about how eating can be emotionally driven. It’s a great avoidance strategy for no...

Re: S day dessert ideas for a family of four

Homemade pudding. You can make just 4 servings of chocolate pudding.

The recipe for Tapioca (on the Minute Tapioca biz) makes 6 half- cup servings. But you can have slightly larger servings to use it up in one go, or let the kids (or adults) have an extra at another meal.

Hi Merry! So nice to "see a familiar face," so to speak. Yes, the marketing hype is annoying. I tended to put on a video/vlog while I was doing other stuff that didn't take all my attention. Re: Reflections on No-S and BLE

One of the useful aspects of BLE corresponds to a feature of No-S - an emphasis on creating new habits. There are some re-phrasings of familiar ideas that I found helpful. All of us have to coping with some sort of "lapse" at times. The catch-phrase used in BLE is "Re-zoom" (a cutesy spelling of "Re...

Re: Reflections on No-S and BLE

Okay, for those of you not familiar with "Bright Lines Eating," or the originator's story, here's a summary. Susan Pierce Thompson (SPT) was a drug addict in her youth, and when she kicked that habit, became obese. She did the usual lose/gain/lose on various diets, and finally lost through a program...

Marking "S-days" in advance is a good idea. Mostly, I think, I just need to tighten up a bit - it's easy to become complacent, and get a little sloppy. So it's back to basics, paying more attention to details on N-days, and being intentional about treats. I generally enjoy treats I plan for, and fee...

Thursday was good on all counts. Friday... not so much. Got steps, Tai Chi, and meditation, but really failed on No S (evening snack-fest, at wreck-the-car level but not eating-to-icky level). Missed on Battle Against Chaos as well, but plan to get to some of that today. Today... so far, so good. Re...

Your thread title caught my eye - wonderful! Welcome to the board. I will say that I think No-S allowed me to "make friends with my body." eschano, you're right - 1.5 isn't bad. And I had pizza for dinner the night before, so some of that may even be due to salt. Next week's weigh-in will tell the tale. The focus is just to get back on track with habits - which I'm finding pretty easy so far (knock on wood). So, Wednesday was pretty go...
