A new outlook
I have been aware of the NO S Diet for a couple of years now. I bought the book. It does make sense, no doubt about it. I even gave it a try. In a three week period I gained a good 5 pounds and ran like the dickens from this "crazy" way of eating. :? I had 30 ponds to lose. Guess what? I STILL have ...

Hey Tess.. I started NO S a while back didn't see those "instant" results and said "to heck with it" and went back to my old ways. (cutting carbs one day...counting points another and threw in some paleo eating for good measure.) I am now up an extra FIVE pounds. I am female...5.5 and weigh 169. I a...

Three years ago I quit smoking. I gained 20 pounds in a matter of a few months. Started counting calories/ no weight loss. So I thought I would try WW/ no weight loss. Started Atkins/ lost 10 pounds over a year of yo-yoing with that way of eating. Tried the new WW again recently/ no weight loss and ...

I am 168 pounds, 41 years of age, female and I am 5.5. My extra weight is around my mid section. My goal weight is 145. I have noticed that the whole grains seem harder on my digestive. I have noticed that Ezekiel bread (made from sprouts) seems to agree with me a little more. I stopped eating oatme...

issue with carbs answers
When I eat any type of grain, bread, pasta, oatmeal i get very bloated and it seems I just swell up everywhere. I suffer anyways with severe constipation. I will go DAYS and not have a BM. (sorry to be so gross) Told my doc and he just brushed it off and said I must be gluten sensative. That was it....

My issue with carbs
I REALLY have an issue with carbs. I am having a problem "just" counting three plates a day. Not only am I counting calories but I am also counting carbs. I am setting myself up for failure. I am carb sensative. Or am I? I'm not even sure if I am. The two years I ate low carb I convinced myself I wa...

3 pound gain
Well, in two weeks I have gained three pounds. No fail days at all. S days done in moderation. Shovelglove every day. Eating about 1300 cals per day. Keeping carbs under 120. I feel heavier and more bloated than ever. I didn't have to get on the scales to find out if I have gained. I feel it all ove...

If you have an oval slow cooker you can make a veggie lasanga. Just layer your sauce, cheeses and uncooked pasta and set it on low. Use a little more sauce than ususal because the pasta will absorb it. SO good. If your cooker is round you can still do it. You will just have to break up the pasta a l...

Zippa-- I run two businesses, run after kids, keep meals on the table, and keep the house "somewhat" clean. At the end of the day it's hard to find energy to brush my teeth and fall into bed. I agree bright angel. I won't worry about it then. The reason my calorie intake is low is because I eat allot of veggies and raw greens. I just happen to love them. They fill me up. I am doing really well with this. I got through my first weekend. I had a couple of brownies and a bowl of pita chips Saturday night while I watched "Ripper Street". Yesterday i weighed 164. This morning it says 166! What the??? I know it even spoke of this in the book. Could be water retention as well. I still don't like it though. Think I will go back to the one weighing per week. In my mind though I am thinking "if I gained 2 pounds overnight how do I dare ea...

"Plate room" question
Lastnight I got a six inch subway sub. Brought it home and put it on my dinner plate. Counted out serving size of pita chips onto plate and there was still room on my plate. My question is the first week in should I be concerned about serving size? I was hungry when I went to bed lastnight. Should I...

I am actually going to do this! I have shared with close friends and family what I am going to do and they laugh, laugh, laugh. I also caution you not to use the scale to measure your success, esp. at first. Some do lose right away; many don't. How you eat and what you weigh in a year is a better measure This is an issue for me. I put SOOO much stock into those little digital numbers down by my feet!! I know I shouldn't. Bu...

Two weeks into this and on my "N" days follow it right to the letter. On "S" day (no special occassions yet just weekends) I eat a few things like muffins, sweet breads, few glasses of wine. Hi all. Newbie here but I am not a newbie to diets. Four years ago I quit smoking and gained 20 pounds. I was 10 pounds too heavy to begin with. Went to Weight Watchers. Well...that was a bust.
