Re: Why did you leave? Why are you back?

Short answers: I left because I am an idiot. I'm back because I am not a complete idiot. Long answer: My first time with No S, I had a great deal of success. I found the book in the bookstore and started it right away. The first month I lost ten pounds but then in the following months my weight loss...

Do you have a favorite coffee brand and/or flavor? I am still trying to find mine. I can admit that I do enjoy drinking Folgers and Great Value...even though I shouldn't ...LOL I don't understand why you shouldn't enjoy Folgers and Great Value. Don't let culture or advertising tell you what to like...

Re: Ideas for satisfying healthy winter lunches

I've recently been having salads with a handful of mixed nuts and some unpasteurised cheese. I've really enjoyed it but not sure it will hit the spot during cold winter months.. Jx Yikes, good point. What will I do in winter when I crave warm foods? I'll have to find a "winter work lunch" default. ...

Hi all - I am looking for your best tips to avoid nighttime munchies and the what-the-hell effect between the hours of 6-10pm. I'm pretty much in perfect compliance until that time but from dinner onwards, I really struggle and can't seem to keep my days days green no matter what I try. It's SO fru...

Re: 2017 One year No S Challenge

I've strayed from NO S many times. I'm always wandering off to try some other scam, er,I mean diet. I stopped by the bookstore tonight and found myself looking in the diet section. I am hoping some of you will join me on this challenge and we can encourage each other. Honestly, to go an entire year...

Re: Nine year old daughter says she has no friends.

Just wanted some advice really. My daughter is saying she doesn't have any friends at school. She is an only child and refuses to do any after school clubs despite me suggesting it over and over again. It breaks my heart. I don't know what I can do. I have suggested that each day she approach a dif...

French bread pizza is a possible solution

I found thus discussion interesting because I used to think of No S as the "pizza and beer" diet. They are deli...

No S is the simplest and easiest diet I have ever tried. It is also effective while being nearly effortless after the first couple of weeks. Yet, the longest I have stayed on it is about 4 months. Why because I want to lose faster and no s is a slow weight loss diet. The rational part of my mind kee...

It sounds Orwellian, but rules ARE freedom.

This statemenr reminds me of poetry class. The most popular form of poetry today remains the sonnet--one of the most restrictive forms. Why do poets write sonnets when they can write free verse? One of the reasons is the with free verse; the poet has to struggle with creating form as well as being c...

Re: CAN I HAVE A SMALL DESSERT AFTER EVENING MEAL

I'D PREFER TO HAVE A SMALL DESSERT DAILY THAN CHANGE MY EATING PLAN AT WEEKENDS. IS THAT OK? If your dessert is a piece of fruit and it fits on your dinner plate then yes, you can. According to Vanilla No S you can't eat after the meal but you can have fruit with your meal and eat it last. You didn...

Diet or exercise

Eating, since as Iron Chef points, out you are already doing it. I agree, whether it s an s day or a N day, unless you are fasting, we eat everyday --even when the weather is bad. So, logically that would be the place to start since a modification of current habits is easier than starting a new hab...

As already mentioned, there are many issues with using weight as a guide. One additional problem, as far as no s is concerned, is that it takes the focus away from the habit and places it on results. This is my biggest problem with staying on no s. I am good at compliance, but if my weight moves up ...
