Checking in to report general success. I feel like this is definitely becoming habit and it's getting much easier to not snack during the week.

After almost a month of staying the same weight, I've lost 3.4 lbs in the past week. Woot!

I haven't checked in in a bit, but things are going well. My main concern now is that I am also tracking my food in My Fitness Pal, and I'm finding that most days, I'm not consuming quite enough calories. I'm feeling very satisfied during the week, so I'm loathe to play around with the No S formula,...

Thanks for the feedback on my sick day. I had a good weekend but went a wee bit off the rails yesterday. I was just so hungry all day long! I ended up having a few different snacks - a handful of Goldfish, an apple, and some tortilla chips & hummus. Back in the saddle again today. I have increased t...

4/16 - success 4/17 - I hesitate to call this day a success, although I didn't have sweets, seconds or snacks - I was not feeling well so I slept right through dinner, and according to my fitness pal I had nearly 800 calories left to eat in my day after lunch. Maybe I'll just call this a sick day an...

I think it might be the ice cream, because I had ice cream last Sunday and also felt not so great afterwards. I'm happy to be back to the easy choices of the No S day! I always have some kind of fruit + protein for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and dinner I eat like I'm not on a diet - tonight I wil...

4/12 - Success! 4/13 - S day 4/14 - S day I wasn't too out of control on either S day - I was on the road on Saturday and ate very little, but poorly. Sunday was my stepson's birthday, and he requested dinner at a local burger/ice cream place, so we went and I had a cheeseburger, shared fries with m...

I'm the opposite. I always eat less when I eat with others. Probably because I talk so much!

I just read something today about a fork that vibrates if you are eating too quickly. Will have to google it.

I've only been doing No S for about 3 weeks, but I did have a couple of days where I didn't succeed in resisting a snack. I just had it, and didn't let it get out of control. Maybe allowing yourself that one sweet will keep you from bingeing, so maybe it would be appropriate to make that modificatio...

Yesterday was a tough day, I had to rally myself to avoid temptation, but I managed it. I had a lot of homework to do when I got home from work, and I so wanted a snack while I was doing it, but I resisted. Then I had to go to the grocery store before dinner to pick up a couple of ingredients, but I...

That is so funny about our waists! One of the biggest changes I've noticed with losing weight is that my "waist" has now moved from under my bust back down to its proper place! Just in the past week, I've started to really see the weight loss, and my waist has moved downward! I don't have to undo m...

Thanks, Sweetness. Had a good weekend. I cautiously allowed myself to have a snack on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday it meant I didn't have room for dinner; on Sunday, it was dessert, and honestly, I didn't feel so good after I ate it, so I may try to keep the No" in the "S" days. Back to the...

And, they weren't getting easier

I failed yesterday. I successfully resisted (without even feeling any effort in doing so) all the treats that came into the office after the holiday weekend.

And then I went home and had an ice cream sundae.

Ah well, today is another day.

If I eat a breakfast with a lot of protein, I tend to feel more satisfied and it takes longer for me to get hungry. Heck, I've had days where I had a late breakfast around 10:30-11, so ate an omelette or something big like that, stuffed with veggies, and that would be the only meal I had all day bec...

Fell off the wagon

At least it wasn't in a big way, but I'm going to re-start my attempt for 21 days on straightforward No S. I partially blame the Girl Scout cookies. Shortformyweight check-in

I started last Thursday, and I've had good days every day - all happy green days on my Habitcal calendar.

I am struggling with the desire to taste something sweet and chocolate and delicious today even though I'm not hungry. I have already decided I'm not going to give in, though.

Needed to read this today

Because I would kill for a piece of chocolate right now. Chocolate which is readily available to me at work - my boss has a jar that is perpetually filled with Dove dark chocolates, and at the front desk, our receptionist has a bowl filled with fun size candy bars. I am avoiding walking by either lo...

Going well

I am doing well so far. I didn't eat enough calories at all this weekend, I came in at 970-ish on Saturday, mostly because it was just a really busy day, and yesterday I came in at just over 1000. I feel like perhaps a lot of people here don't enjoy cooking very much. I love to cook. And I'm realizing how much I rely on a snack to get me through the afternoon. I decided to eat breakfast and lunch a little bit later. Eating healthy

I grew up in a family where we always ate at home, and every dinner was a meat, a potato, and a vegetable. My father grew up in pretty extreme poverty, so he was grateful for 3 squares, and he's never been a sweet eater or a snacker - maybe once a year, on a really hot day, he'd have a scoop of ice ...

Does yogurt count as a sweet?

I am starting No S today, and I was wondering - where does yogurt fall in the scheme of things? I have a Chobani strawberry yogurt that I would normally eat as a breakfast, but is it also a sweet, and therefore something to be saved for the day after tomorrow?
