Wow ! Late congratulations

I joined in Nov. but the last few weeks were a disaster for me, and I'm just now getting back to this BB. Wonderful news about the booK! As for suggestions on the book, all of your postings on this site could be a goldmine of additional material for you or your editor to explore. Secondly, I very mu...

Carrie Ann... I'm starting back on the program too!

Carrie Ann, were you named after the song? I'm restarting tomorrow too. Joined in November and was starting to make a little progress, then we had a major health issue pop up with my 87 year old Mom, and eventually I just blew everything off, health-wise. Even gained a few more lbs. in Dec. I need t...

You know what? I'm GLAD you're venting! There's certainly no need to ever apologize for doing so. This is why we are here, to provide a spring board for each other, also help steer each other toward the positive and away from the negative. Isn't it great that we have each other? Think how much money...

Day 15

Spent the day at the hospital. It's really hard to divorce the two (hospital=coffee!) However I've had no snacks, no sweets, no seconds, so that's a pretty good day! My Mom is recovering enough that they took her off the ventilator and shes breathing just fine on her own, that is a big relief. She's...

Hey Sunshine

Been reading some of your more recent check-in posts. I see you've been hanging around this place for quite a few months. I wonder if you would post a short overview of your experiences here, have you lost weight overall, are you still losing, etc.?

Thanks!

Day 14

Hi Y'all, Thank you for inquiring about my Mom. Her surgery was done on Saturday. Her outlook doesn't seem as good as we had hoped but time will tell so we just have to be patient and see what the next days bring. My last 4 days have not gone as well as I wanted them to. I haven't been eating tons o...

Good job on the success! Are you still weighing yourself every day? I'm waiting to weigh until Monday, that will be after 2 weeks of No S.

Hi Christi,

BIG congrats on your BP numbers! Yay! I read through most of your check in posts the other day, wow, you've been dealing with a lot. I admire your keep-on-keepin'-on philosophy. Have a good No S day!

Day 10

Thanks ladies for posting your input here! This entire week has NOT been normal at all. However I have managed to stick with the program. My Mom is scheduled for heart bypass surgery tomorrow, she's 86 years old but has never looked or acted her age, so we have a good outlook that everything will go...

Good job Hex!

I loved hearing about your successful day! One thing I'm finding about this WOE, each successful day is actually its own reward. When you eat this way, you feel good, and good about it. Just keep stacking up those good days, and soon those jeans will be fitting better again.

Multi-tasking

Hi Zoo, My opinion? I suggest taking it one thing at a time. The fact that you commute on a bicycle puts you far and away above the exercise most people do. It does sound to me like you are very motivated but tackling too much at once and not succeeding at anything could be very demoralizing. We wan...

Day 8 check in

Day 8 went well. My mom is in the hospital so I spent the day there with her. Relatives in hospital, that can be a stressful and trying time. But it will be whether you overeat or not! So I didn't overeat. Had 3 squares today. Only exception: I did give in to the coffee pot, and for me, that meant p...

Hey Zoo! Thread for Newbies

I like your idea of starting a thread for us newbies. I've been thinking the same thing. Maybe a newbie thread each month? I think it would be good support for all of us, and you are so right, it helps to post and know that there will be others in the same boat replying back to your posts. I think I...

Hi Tiger, I see you just joined us? Maybe you could tell us a little bit about yourself? You mentioned your mom makes great smoothies. Are you a young person? Hi Zoolina!

I'm new here too. I would say, don't worry too much about what you're seeing on the scale. The short term numbers don't mean much, it's the long term numbers you need to focus on. Do you weigh every day? One thing I plan on NOT doing is weighing in at the end of two S days...although next Monday wil...

Hi Chappy!

Hi all, I really, really want to believe in this. Every morning I wake up and say "Today is the day." So I start and have some sort of normal breakfast like a bagel & cream cheese. And then I start to freak out- "Why are you having wheat? You're totally going to get fat! Dairy is the worst! What are...

Sunday check in

Well, this is the last day of my first week. The first 4 1/2 days went really wonderfully. However Friday evening was not perfect, we had houseguests arrive for the weekend and that's when the party started. I didn't do too badly Friday evening. Saturday afternoon and night were a virtual unending s...

Regarding your knee...I believe I may have read in an earlier thread that you have had some physical therapy? If true, was that any help at all? I've just finished day 4. I'm hungry a lot. I admit I have not been eating large meals and not a huge amount of calories at them. I guess I just don't feel comfortable eating a big meal, it's something I don't often do. I've had the feeling that when I'm hungry, that means "something" is finally hap...

Hello Everyone, I've been going through diet hell for the last 3 months, since I quit smoking. Gained more than 15 lbs since that, mostly I believe from hormonal & metabolic issues that came about with the shock to the system of quitting. (I'm 54 years old...) I've been trying to manage the weight i...
