What a fantastic post! Really puts things in perspective. I am going to print it out for easy reference; this will most certainly keep me on track.

Thanks

I drink black coffee in the morning, and a cup of black coffee at the beginning of my shift when I am working (nights) and otherwise water throughout the day, nothing else. I drink at least 64 oz of water every day.

Hi Elizabeth 7, I'm glad my post helped you out. I an doing the same thing this time. I find it easier to stick to No S by spreading out the S days. First, one does not have to wait so long for a reward. Also, there is not as much of a desperate urge to go wild on S days, because the next one is not...

Thanks Everyone, Yes, Holocene and Reinhard, I see exactly what you mean. That is a most helpful perspective. That sounds so understated, but I really mean that. Thanks. I really feel much better already. Today is day 7, so I am just shy of a compete week. I am getting used to not snacking (the hard...

I'm very sorry for your loss. Pets are definitely people, too. I've been there several times. Just remember all the love you've given and received over the years. I could never be petless even though it is hard at the end. A day without a pet is like a day without sunshine.

Thank you.

That's kind of why I wrote the post...to show that falling off the wagon can happen and often does, and that it's OK to mess up and just hop back on.

Today was day 6, and I am doing well so far.

Thanks. I started out still down net 3 lbs from where I originally started No S. So I didn't gain ALL of my weight back...just getting way too close. Anyway, I am rolling now and starting to feel a bit better already, physically and emotionally.

I am back...confession time

I have been debating, but think it's time to post. I started a thread in the testimonials section a while back, almost a year ago I think, about losing 10 lbs in 10 weeks. Since that time, in a nutshell, I lost another lb, went off No S, lost another 3, and was actually able to maintain my weight fo...

lin47,

It's over 11 weeks now, and I'm down another lb. So it's still about 1 lb per week, but at some point that will stop. It could stop now and that would be fine. But this definitely works.

Mariposa1127, I think the S days mod is the key to sticking with No S this time. On my previous attempts, which I think was at least 4, I would just be nuts by the time Sat rolled around, and pretty much permasnack all weekend long. Not every single weekend, but most. I felt as if each weekend I los...

I am thrilled with No S. I feel like my years of dieting and food obsession are finally behind me.

Thanks a lot.

I am very all-or-nothing. On the previous attempts with No S, if I had a couple red days, I'd abandon the whole thing. The longest I ever made it was 6 weeks, which really isn't too bad. This time, it's been since Jan 1 and I am still going strong. So what's different this time? I think the most imp...

10 lbs in 10 weeks

Subject heading is not to brag, but to show that weight loss doesn't have to be really slow on NO S. I consider 10 lbs in 10 weeks a pretty good rate of weight loss. First the stats. I am 3 weeks shy of 52 today, and female. I am 5.5" tall, and went from 138 lbs to 128 lbs. My mods: S days are Mon a...

I don't think that we go from something being habit to hobby just because it is more time-consuming than unobtrusive. To my mind, a habit is something that we do with regularity because it has become part of our routine, no matter how much time it takes. I do my housework like you, and also exercise...

Great post! I'm on about my 5th attempt at No S. I keep coming back because I don't want to weigh, measure, or count anything. It takes up way too much time and mental energy that could be better spent elsewhere, as your husband points out. I also get a lot of exercise, 8 hours a week or so on avera...

I just want to add a bit to my previous post. When I say it's working, I don't mean just weight loss. I am happier doing No S than not. I don't weigh, count, or measure anything. No food groups are restricted. I eat what I want to, and am not obsessing about food like before. It's really more about ...

I've averaged just under 2 S days per week so far, but I plan to start doing exactly 2 S days per week starting this week, since I am approaching where I want to end up. I'm thinking Monday and Friday, but I may keep it floating. We'll see. The main objective is to stay on board. All I have to do is...

Hi Everyone, I started back with No S Jan 1, for the fifth time probably. This time I decided to have mods...two of them. First, I would choose my own "s" days, and I would have a max of 2 "s" events per s day. My reasoning was that waiting until the weekend each week felt too restrictive and was ma...

Hi Everyone, I think the third time will be the charm. I started No S a few months back and didn't make it past a few days. I had a couple red days and let my all-or-nothing attitude sabotage me. My second attempt lasted 6 weeks from mid-Oct to this past Dec 2. I had a wicked craving for snacks and ...
