Thanks for the responses! I tried it last week, but it was a total fail! lol I think in the back of my mind I totally felt like I was "cheating", and then it just all derailed from there. Sigh...so I'm going back to almost vanilla. :) I start my weekend on Friday night since it's date night with my ...

Not doing all 3 S's at once?
I've been working on No S since January, and besides one 7 week stint I've not had many good weeks. I've decided to focus on 2 of the S's at this point. No snacking and no seconds. I allow myself a sweet at the end of the day. Since I've been doing this for this many months without a lot of success,...

Anyone else worry about this?
I've been doing No S since the beginning of the year. I had a solid 7 week stretch where I didn't mess up at all in early spring (prior to that, I had a couple weeks all green..but not in a row). I've since gotten off track, (I had a miscarriage, and let my eating relax while I dealt with that) and ...

Are you exercising at all? I ask, because between Thanksgiving and today, I've gone down one clothing size, but according to the scale I've lost less than 5 lbs! I've been walking at least 2 miles, 2x a week on average. And I'm guessing I must be gaining some muscle for the scale to stay as high as ...

I'm noticing my thinking is changing!
When I first started No S, it was constantly on my mind. All day long, I'd be thinking about it. When I can eat, reminding myself not to snack or lick the spoon or whatever. Several weeks in, I no longer thought that much about it, but I started really noticing how often I would have snacked. For in...

I honestly don't think my Friday evening sweet is holding me back. I'm currently on my 3rd successful week! (yay!) In the past few months, up till now, I've only had 1 good week where I got through it all without messing up. So I think that is what has been holding me back so far. :) If I were to st...

Thank you all for your responses. I am 35yo, 153lbs, and 5'5". My goal is about 135...or comfortably in a size 6. Is there any chance that my Friday date night "cheat" could be holding me back? It's hard to believe that one thing is the only thing that is keeping me from losing this weight. Especial...

I've not posted in a while! I seriously got started with No S a week into January. I've only managed to get through 2 weeks perfectly (well...I do have a dessert Friday nights...so technically it would be a red day). Most weeks I only had small failures, and other weeks it would be a full day or two...

Thanks! I am trying not to worry too much about it. I never thought of committing to a certain amount of time. I believe in No S 100% and don't plan on quitting. :) I just wondered about some kind of rule of thumb about seeing progress in weight loss. Since No S is a rather slow losing diet, how much time do you give it before perhaps making more changes? In other words...how long do you do Vanilla S before thinking you need to add more rules, or whatever? Right now I'm only focussing on getting through my N days correctly...so I'm not heavily fo...

Ok, so I first started No S a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. I wondering if there is any reason why I should continue to weigh myself? I've officially been on No S for a full week, and I'm up 2/10ths of a lb...so basically I'm the same. I just read that post (and will need to again, as I went through it too fast). I am very sure I need to SLOW down and try to really get a handle on this way of eating. I only have 20 lbs or so to go, but the thought of losing only .5 lbs a week (which I keep reading is kind of average) seems painful...

how do you do meals that consist of soup?
This is a silly question, I'm sure, but how do you do meals that don't really use a full plate of food? We're having soup tonight with some bread and some kind of veggie. Do I just have one bowl of soup, and have a small plate for the other parts to the meal?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ok...here's some more detail. I had a baby in March, and had a lot of weight to lose (baby #4). Trim Healthy Mama is pretty much a low carb diet, but it's a very confusing, time intensive plan to learn and impliment. And some of the ingredients are costly. All through the summer, I stayed on it M-F,...

Hi, I just found out about this diet, and it sounds very doable long term. My biggest fear is that I'm currently doing Trim Healthy Mama, and have been sticking to it for 10 days now (pathetic I know, but that's excellent for me) and I'm hitting new low numbers on the scale. I have about 20-25 lbs t...
