"...food on the backburner and life in the forefront" is awesome. I'm really impressed that your productivity is keeping you busy and able to forget about food. I also work in the home, had that snacking habit, and feel such relief to not do that anymore.

Love the LAM!! A bubble bath. Wow. I don't even have a bathtub here. Ugh. Monthly trips to the local mikva are my only bath opportunities. The mikva lady probably wonders why I take so long. . . lol.

Walking is awesome. I don't do any exercise that works up a sweat. ewww. lol! That's why I do weights, and calisthenics for short times.

A study that Reinhard linked to showed that walking is even better than jogging.

I agree that montessori is a great option and compliments the homeschooling philosophy (well, in some ways, as school is still school). My girls went to a private montessori style school until 3rd grade, then the school closed. What a shock to all of us when they went to a very structured private sc...

I'm surrounded by yummy-but-forbidden-to-me foods and it is hard. Much easier to not have the goodies around, but that's not real life or fair to everyone else. And OTOH, sometimes I purposely ply my family with all the goodies I can't eat, and live/eat through them. lol Marzipan I can pass on, but ...

I just stopped by to see how you're doing and you are doing just great!! I love your maintenance plan, and see that you're eating three spaced apart meals which is so good for the tummy. Thanks JW. The GAPS intro diet is very restrictive, and I'm doing a modified stricter version of it even. But the regular GAPS diet doesn't look too scary to me. Meaty/fish soups and veggies are the staples, and everything else is extra. Easy for me because I'm not into baking or variety. lol. If yo...

Auto, you ask a good question, but I'm not sure of the answer. I did the SCD diet several years ago (for almost two years) to try to get relief for a hormone imbalance similar to PCOS. The diet didn't help much and I believe it was because I did not go low carb. I did learn that hormone free meat/da...

Long time no post. I was having a hard time and now I'm feeling better. I went on a very strict GAPS diet and detoxed. It was so hard. I'm also in ketosis, which is hard to transition into, but now that I'm in it, I'm feeling better. I'll probably be in ketosis for a while until my body can handle c...

Its really ok to back down on a punishment if you think you were too harsh.
I've done it a million times and didn't lose credibility with my kids, in fact they trust me more, because I show that ultimately/eventually, I'm fair.

Auto, it's fun that you took the enneagram test! Just fyi, 1s can relate to the 4, especially when the 1 is a little depressed. 1s are actually similar to the 5 by being curious and intellectual, and to the 6 by intuiting danger and recognizing problems/issues. And 9's are good for 1s by keeping the...
